Imaginators marked the first major appearance of Crash in several years; though he had a cameo appearance in Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, the last game in which he was the main character was 2010's Crash Bandicoot Nitro Kart 2. Body parts, which are classified into four types, namely Common, Rare, Epic, and Ultimate, can be found when players are exploring in the game. As the title is a toys-to-life game, players can put Skylanders toy figurine onto a Portal of Power, which will then allow players to control the figurine-represented character in-game. In June 2016, Sony Interactive Entertainment revealed that Crash Bandicoot would be a new guest character in the game. Different crystals unlock gear sets and abilities of the corresponding elements, so they still carry with them similar restrictions to the actual preset characters, but the creator adds a sense of freedom that's refreshing in a franchise built on a foundation of microtransactions and gated content.

The team began animating Crash after finishing up the model, with the goal of ensuring that Crash's "edginess, trademark wackiness, and swagger" are preserved.And finally, while I liked that the story gave us characters from the older games, the fact that the stakes really weren't high at all this time around (especially after "Superchargers"), and the lack of a really satisfying ending really ruined the game's extremely bland story. Just when you might have expected the original Toys-to-Life franchise to be running out of steam, Activision has brought it back, revitalised and exciting. It's somehow surprising to discover that there's a cutesy brawler hidden under all the wallet-driven infrastructure, mixing light platforming, breezy puzzles, and RPG-like elements, as well as an addictive card battling game and wave-based arena fights. Activision has announced Skylanders: Imaginators for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3, which is set for release – we think – on 14th October in Europe and 16th October in North America.

A successor to Skylanders: SuperChargers, it was released for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Wii U, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Ken lifts weights every day of the week to somehow justify spending the remainder of his free time playing video games, reading comic books, watching movies, and not getting nearly enough sleep. The combat is solid, and aside from glacial movement speed, the stages themselves are full of things to see and do.

The team opted not to port the game for mobile platforms as the team realized that there is not a huge demand or market for toys-to-life games in these platforms. There's enough here to make some of the most gloriously silly avatars this side of a WWE game, helped in no small part by the offbeat options available. And, at the very least, it is nice to see that some of the old "Skylanders," like Stealth Elf and Jet-Vac, actually play a role in this game's story. I have a LONG history with Skylanders, I’ve been playing since the first one came out and have been smitten ever since.

It looks like all of the Crash Bandicoot teasing is going to come down to this: a PlayStation 4 version of Skylanders: Imaginators including the iconic character.
