I liked the story and was intrigued by the premise a lot but unfortunately, this was majorly narrated by the other woman, Nan. The narrator was good, and I think the story is easy to follow, which I tend to prefer for audiobooks. Miramax TV has optioned the television rights to The Christie Affair, which is being developed as a limited series. This is historical fact, and The Christie Affair takes those facts and weaves a new story around them.

In Ireland, she meets and falls in love with Finbarr, a boy a few years older who helps out around her Uncle's farm. The facts are as follows: In December, 1926 Agatha's husband Archie Christie announced he was divorcing Agatha to marry his mistress. Her descriptors are raw and revealing and give somewhat of an insight into the coming of age of Nan O'Dea. This story is reminiscent of one of Christie’s enigmatic works, and we are thrilled to be collaborating with Juliette Towhidi and our partners at The Gotham Group in bringing this truly captivating murder mystery to the screen. On December 3, 1926, Agatha Christie was told by her husband that he was leaving her for another woman, a Nancy Neele.Chilton suspects the bickering American honeymoon couple at the Bellefort aren’t who they seem to be. It is very well written, though one will have to stay focused to keep up with the timelines and narratives.

As the book opens, Nan and Archie are at his office, discussing when he will tell Agatha that he’s leaving her.Not that there is anything wrong with that, but in which case, I would say the title of the book is more than a tad misleading. Later, she reveals what Finbarr has already told her: Nan has orchestrated her affair with Archie because she believes that his daughter Teddy is the child that she lost. However, when Finbarr comes to see Nan at the hotel, Chilton recognizes him and is able to follow Finbarr to the new house that he and Agatha are staying (squatting) at. Her mother had recently died and her husband was having an affair with another woman and planned to leave her.

At the Bellefort Hotel (where Chilton and Nan are staying at), Nan meets the various guests including a number of couples on vacation. By the end of the novel, I felt myself quite satisfied with the tale and eager to pass on my recommendations to other readers. Ever since my teenage years, I've been an Agatha Christie fan, devouring most of her Poirot and Marple books at least once, as well as watching several television series and movies. The day after Agatha's husband Archie Christie tells her he is divorcing Agatha and leaving her for his mistress, Agatha Christie disappeared without a trace for 11 days. While the story is inspired by real-life events, it is a work of fiction and not intended to be a historical reference.
