About this deal

Such natural talent or ability may be approved in some manner by teaching "quality" bookjumping, and bookjumping may be possible without reading the text aloud. Although dodos had been extinct for some time, in Fforde's fictional universe they have been reintroduced through cloning, a popular hobby. Time and the path of historical events are fluid in this novel, embodied by Thursday Next’s father who is on the run and has an unexplained purpose flitting backwards and forwards across the centuries. On her first mission with SO-5 Thursday chooses to move in on Hades prematurely and her two coworkers are killed, and she is wounded by Hades and left for dead. Spratt and Mary get their own Fforde series, The Nursery Crime Division books, and appear in The Big Over Easy and The Fourth Bear featuring crimes against characters in classic children's literature.

Thursday is in her mid-thirties at the start of the first book, and, by the end of it, had married Landen Parke-Laine. During the course of the weeks she spends in the novel, Thursday learns that literary characters relive the events of their works an infinite number of times, always fully aware of how the story will end but powerless to change it.Thursday Next is the protagonist in a series of comic fantasy, alternate history mystery novels by the British author Jasper Fforde.

Born on the 11th of January, 1961, the British novelist Jasper Fforde was brought up in London where he spent much of his childhood formulating many of his ideas. The Crimean War is still being waged in 1985, Russia still has a Czar, and the Whig Party still exists in the House of Commons. In Jasper Fforde’s Great Britain, circa 1985, time travel is routine, cloning is a reality (dodos are the resurrected pet of choice), and literature is taken very, very seriously. As a young girl she was transported into the book just at the pivotal moment where Rochester first meets Jane. Escaping from the experiment, their release resulted in a disaster, as they can contribute severe damage to a book.

In addition, literature plays a much larger role in society, with the general public regularly debating issues of literary scholarship, sometimes even to the point of violence and murder. The Eyre Affair is the first novel in the Thursday Next Series written by British author Jasper Fforde. He can change his appearance, and with his incredibly dominating personality can convince almost anyone to do almost anything. While bookjumping appears to be a given talent to all fictional characters, the bookjumping ability is a rarity in those from outside BookWorld.
