About this deal

Every now and again a strange and wonderful land arrives and rests on the topmost branches and the children have visited many of them and experienced all kinds of adventures. Moving near to a seemingly normal large wood, three young children, Jo, Bessie and Fanny, soon discover that the wood may in actual fact be magic.

This is the 30th book, but considering Alex has survived "Kill Alex Cross" before, chances are he survives this one. At the beginning of the story she is an insufferable little brat who has clearly been spoiled rotten. Even so, they explore a host of lands, including Nursery Rhyme Land, the land of Dame Slap, and climb up the Ladder That Has No Top, but then disaster strikes: The Faraway Tree is dying – its leaves curling up and no fruit growing on its branches. If you've read the first book ( The Enchanted Wood) you might remember a little pixie that becomes very angry when any person, purely out of curiosity, peeps through the window of his little house which is set into the tree-trunk. The biggest one is Connie constantly being referred to as 'curious' as if curiosity is a negative trait.

Taking a journey into a whole new world of magic and make-believe, it’s set around the concept of imagination. Almost working into the narrative as a character in of itself it comes to life, as its fully realized by Blyton. I did enjoy some of the characters Moon-face in particular but the Saucepan man really winds me up he's the most annoying a repetitive character ever created. They discover that it is inhabited by magical people, including Moon-Face, Silky, The Saucepan Man, Dame Washalot, Mr. By the end of the year, I was no longer thought of as stupid, and school become this marvelous place where you could go and leave with your head full of things you'd never known before.Jo has been changed to Joe, the more common spelling for males, and Bessie is now Beth, the former name having fallen out of use as a nickname for Elizabeth.

Meanwhile adults can enjoy the story too for the wonderful adventures, and it will bring out the child in anyone. When Moonface invites them all to tea in the Enchanted Wood, Connie is excited despite her disbelief that such a place could ever exist. Yet in the fourth book by Blyton, Up The Faraway Tree, Silky is introduced to Robin and Joy as a pixie: ″So Joy knocked—and the door flew open, and there stood little Silky the pixie.Be prepared also that within the group, it is Jo who predominantly takes control and makes the decisions. Introducing their cousin to all their magical friends, they take a journey through the lands once more, stopping to take it all in. These lands can either be fantastic like the land of Take-What-You-Want or horrible like the land of Slaps. I spoke for ten minutes about how the imagination grows from an understanding of language; that the roots to the images in our heads is the understanding of that language.

On their very first venture into the wood,as they prepare to have a picnic, they see some magic toadstools pop up and a group of brownies take their seats on them for a meeting. It never seemed strange that she didn't notice they would sneak out or that they spent most of their time up an enchanted tree.Loved how magic and companionship with a tinch of trust and love can shape a person's character and help in the growth of a sempiternal bond. I did enjoy this series, and I like the fact that the Faraway Tree is the last of my reviewed books of 2018. Watzisname and Dame Washalot (of whom you must be mindful because she can toss out her wash water right onto you! And when the Faraway Tree appears to be dying, they all have to find out how to rescue the tree and cure it so that they could save the homes of the folk of the faraway tree and keep their pathway to future adventures intact.
