This story, however, did not employ that slow, steady, atmospheric pacing some domestic or psychological thrillers use in these instances. Cam and his wife Jade seem like power couple, having all including two adorable children in private school , spacious home, fancy cars, designer clothes, luxurious vacations!The bonus for me of books that are partly or fully based in the UK is that I live in the UK and have sometimes visited places mentioned in the book which makes it easier to picture. how could you not get hooked in the first chapter … Ali Mercer takes the concept of marriage and throws in every possible monkey wrench you could think of… Keeps you intrigued throughout the entire book and has you thinking that not one character is innocent… I highly recommend you read this book to find out this and so much more! There are secrets the couple have kept for 15 years and her husband now threatens to reveal them… OK, so I am actually reviewing this on my own 40th birthday which is kind of weird: I can’t imagine my day turning out in the same way! Her friends warn her that the seven year itch is approaching, but she and Will are still blissfully in love.

Although I did like the storyline and the characters which kept me interested enough to finish this book otherwise it was definitely a strange feeling for me! In Ali Mercer's the Marriage Lie, this riveting domestic suspense novel will leave you at the edge of your seat and hold your breath. Jade and Cam Lasky are a happy couple with two wonderful children, a beautiful house, and a growing restaurant business. There are twisty turns and bends throughout and the ending felt right, leaving some things to my own imagination. The detailed and vivid writing style does a great job of building tension and suspense throughout the story.

It's fast paced, easy to read and something that you will enjoy especially by the beach in the summer time.I kept shutting off my headphones because I couldn’t stand the suspense but then turning them back on as I had to see how the next scene turned out.
