I have read the previous two books in the series, all of which are centered around the northwest county of Cumbria, England. All in all a great crime thriller series and finishes on a nice ending so I hope there is another book in the works!

I’ve read some heavy crime thrillers and while this one isn’t really marketing to be one of those in my opinion, I still think it needed more gore to fit the genre of crime thriller but then like I said, I have read Angela Marsons, Karin Slaughter, Helen Fields etc which are all quite disturbing so perhaps this book would be shocking for someone who hasn’t read into this genre as much as I have?In addition, when considering the treatment cycle necessary, you only need three treatments per year to keep your weeds under control. I always find Pine's writing so easy to follow, making his thrillers quick-paced and his characters easy to engage with. Without any rain, the herbicide solution will sit on the soil, rather than being absorbed by the plant.
