About this deal

In it, he brings all his knowledge and personal experience to talk about the thorny subject of the lies the meat industry propagates. Let’s reclaim this public money, and redistribute it to help farmers, help animals, help the planet, and help us. Is it not odd that someone who smashes a car window to rescue a dog on a hot day is viewed as a hero but someone who rescues a piglet suffering on a farm is a criminal? I find the "all or nothing" attitude of some vegan advocates extremely off-putting, and this book certainly gave me some of that vibe, just like every other book on animals. The meat eating public would definitely pay more attention if they new their heros would be oppose to their lifestyle choices.

The demonisation of non-animal diets can be traced back to what is now widely seen as the protein myth. I feel strongly that once you know the contents of this book, I don't see how you can turn back away from them. Simply put, we live in a world where we don’t have to inflict cruelty on another sentient being every time we go to the supermarket.Appealing to emotional appalment is powerful and satisfying, but I worry that the real argument gets lost because of it. Until very recently, the idea that meat provides protein, which equates to strength, was still a part of mainstream thinking. For me, this just demonstrates how much the world is finally starting to talk about veganism and to take these arguments seriously. It is empathetic and compellingly written and presents a broad and clear picture of the absurdity and complete needlessness of our current world culture of apathy and cruelty towards animals. The book then gets more hopeful, explaining how we can bring about change with no (or positive) effect on our personal health.

Caroline Farrell is a nutritionist who worked with Watford and Fulham football clubs between 2012 and 2018. Through exploring the major ways that our current system of animal farming affects the world around us, as well as the cultural and psychological factors that drive our behaviours, This Is Vegan Propaganda answers the pressing question, is there a better way?Give it a listen or a read, educate yourself on the reality of the cruelty humans perpetuate every single minute of every single day on sentient beings. Becoming educated about the reality of our food choices and the consequences of them is essential in understanding the truth of animal exploitation. I read my first book on animal issues in 2020, and did not actually become vegetarian myself until this year, and I'm still working towards being fully vegan.

Instead he sits in public places under signs printed with provocative statements such as “Going vegan is a moral imperative: change my mind. However, as incredible a public speaker and an activist as he is (please, subscribe to him on YouTube! Vegans make meat-eaters aware of their incompatible beliefs, Winters argues, and people hate them for it. A US study released last November in the journal Appetite found that conformity (or otherwise) to traditional gender roles was still a good predictor of people’s meat consumption and openness to vegetarianism for environmental reasons. In 2017 Winters produced the documentary Land of Hope and Glory and launched the on-going moving activism project The Big Vegan Activism Van. The writing isn't terrible, but it isn't great either, and much of this amounts to a dense and overwhelming compilation of statistics and factory farm horror stories presented as if Winters was trying out for his high school Debate Team.
