Not sure how to rate this story of a young woman leaving her home and family to explore living a completely different kind of life than that which she's grown up with and been groomed to repeat. Colleen McCullough has not lost her ability to draw a reader in and create colourful, engaging characters. If the original book was published in multiple volumes then this reprint is of only one volume, not the whole set. All used books might have various degrees of writing, highliting and wear and tear and possibly be an ex-library with the usual stickers and stamps.

My father is an ex-Catholic priest who left the church for my mother so when the mini series came out, the world stopped in my house for an entire week.
