While these books might be lesser known, oftentimes they make the perfect follow-up reads and have fantastic reviews on GoodReads.i liked how their relationship evolved, it was the slowest slowburn but i didn’t really mind it to be honest. I still think the book put 'slow burn' as its centrepiece but at the end, lack a main plot (or the slow burn is not enough to carry the whole plot). She’s got a habit of writing female protagonists whose only flaw is how insecure they are about their strengths. Zapata’s characters have felt real (and fine, yes, sometimes cringe-worthy), the stories are absorbing, and the books overall are packed with enough enemies-to-lovers tension that it’s enough to warrant a therapy appointment. Aiden relies on her heavily for everything from his meals to updating his social media accounts, yet he hardly pays her any attention. When they get home afterward, they finally tell each other they love one another and admit they wanted to be in Colorado together.Van has been working as Aiden's personal assistant for two years, and both he and his agent have treated her like garbage the whole time. To be fair, this is only the second book of hers that I’ve read (aka patiently and happily suffered through) so far — the first being When Gracie Met the Grump, which is a somewhat silly superhero love story clocking in at 570 pages (one more time, for the people in the back: five hundred and seventy pages) but also . You start picking at the corner of your eye when you feel uncomfortable or fool around with your glasses. I’ve gotten into enough fights in my life; I’ll fight somebody if there’s a good reason, but not for a game.
