The book helped me put my emotions into place but I did not really read something I did not know yet. For example, when you lose a loved one, think of all the fun and memorable thoughts you had with that person instead of worrying that you can’t meet him or her again.No matter what happens to me for the rest of my life, no one can ever send me back to this freakin' place again.

I knew many of these things peripherally, I suppose, but I needed to see them in words in front of my face to make the difference. I like to have a writing book around to dip into when I get stuck or frustrated or just to keep me going. I'm intrigued by his idea that the difference between a professional artist and an amateur is that the professional artist loves the art enough to arrange her/his life to allow him/her to do it full-time. I’m also an International Relations scholar and it’s been a long time since I’ve read anything on Fundamentalism that rang so clear and beautiful as that. I could have sworn I’ve been to this blog before but after reading through some of the post I realized it’s new to me.

This may sound cliche, but we always keep doing it; we keep comparing our work, possessions, and lives with others and remain stuck in a vicious circle.It lacked depth as well, I did not detect much substance, maybe the book is supposed to be light and easy but it is too simplistic. Though this book was a short read of 150 pages, I had a lot of things to highlight and share with all of you. Even though we aren’t in physical danger like a hunter or gatherer days, we now give into different kinds of fear.
