If you, like me, store all your bikes in your apartment or bring them into hotels, you’re probably all too familiar with random tire marks on your walls and tiny piles of road salt and dirt accumulating on your floor under your bike. (Hotel cleaning staff hate me.) Wheelcovers are available in Classic, Lightweight, Premium and now new Ultra lay-up. The Lightweight and Premium both offer around a 10% weight saving over the Classic, while the Premium also features a distinctive 'spread-tow' chequerboard carbon finish. The Ultra also has the chequerboard finish but boasts a further 10% weight saving over the Lightweight as well as exclusive Gold or Silver graphics. An Ultra wheelcover for a deep-rim wheel can now add less than 200g to the wheel weight. So in this article we’ll go over the things you need to look out for to ensure you get a great deal on a bike cover that will last you a decent amount of time. And then I'll recommend the best two bicycle covers I've found... What material is it made of? Extended exposure to moisture (through rain and snow) and UV light (from the sun) can damage your components, fade your paint and significantly shorten the life span of your beloved bicycle!

Whether your bike is under a cover or not, if you leave it in your garden or yard, it is absolutely essential that you secure your frame to an immovable object. Bike covers usually come in different sizes, determined by how many bikes they’ll cover. While it might seem logical to buy a 1 bike sized cover if you’ve only got 1 bike, I’d recommend that you go for a bigger size. You don’t have to spend lots of money to get a really good bike cover. But there’s tons of different bike covers available and they’re certainly not all equal. It’s especially important to use a cover if you store your bike outside. If you live in the city, you’ve likely seen those poor bikes changed outside battling the elements ( and losing.) Even indoors, a cover reduces the possibility of grease and grime showing up on walls and floors. No matter where you need to park your bike, whether it be for a few hours or a few months, it’s a small investment toward the maintenance and care of your favorite ride.Any additional information about your wheel Brand, Make, Model, and Year should be input in the text field.

And unless there's a covered area in your outside space, your bike is likely to be exposed to the elements.

When you race with a disc wheel, you'll need a 90-degree pump adapter to access your valve with a standard pump such as the Silca presta adapter.

Wheelcovers can be made to various depths and dishes to accommodate shallow rims up to 100mm deep rims.

Smaller (1 bike) covers will be a tighter fit. They’re more difficult to get over your bike and sometimes they don’t fall all the way to the floor, leaving gaps that can increase the bike's exposure to the weather. But if you get the material (and stitching) right, you'll have a bike cover that will last a decent amount of time, whatever the weather. You'll pay more for better quality material, but not much more, so it's a worthwhile investment. Vacuum consolidated, high-modulus carbon-fibre reinforced resin construction - just like carbon frames and wheels - for high strength and stiffness.
