On iOS-based devices, a minimum of iPhone 5S (not iPhone 5 / 5C), iPod Touch (5th generation), iPad 5th Generation or above, the iPad mini 2 or above is required.

If the player reloads the game whilst they have pending currency rewards, they will be alerted that they have earned them with the "coin/diamond collect" sound effect (depending on which the player has earned) on the loading screen. Rares are also uniquely available to buy in the StarShop when available. Since 2020, a group of 3 Rares (two Naturals and one Fire Monster) are available to buy with Starpower every two weeks. Sometimes Monsters are also available in the StarShop for other special promotions, like during Seasonal Events. Virtual Studio Technology is an audio plugin software that has libraries of sound effects and synthesized instruments. Within these libraries are SoundFonts, which are the individual effects and instruments themselves. The Monster-Handlers utilize several VSTs to create the sounds of instrumental and sometimes vocal Monsters. On February 7th, 2020, the App was removed from both the Google Play Store and the iOS App Store, initially citing a Google Play Store policy change, but later decided to permanently delist the App from both App stores to focus on the main games. Because Wubbox, Rare Wubbox, Epic Wubbox, the Wublins, and the Celestials are not added to the Book of Monsters until they are awoken, there is no way for a player to skip the discovery screen when discovering these monsters for the first time. The discovery screens of the Dipsters also cannot be skipped because they are bought from the market directly.

Boo'qwurm can either be teleported to Seasonal Shanty once fed to level 15, or bred with Schmoochle and Hoola. Boo'qwurm has a low coin production when compared to other Monsters. The "follow us on Facebook" message that sometimes pops up features a Bowgart and a Mammott. The Bowgart seems to represent the blue of the Facebook logo while the Mammott represents the white font inside the Facebook logo. Plant, Cold, Air, Water, and Earth Islands are the " Natural Islands", as they only require purchasing Single Element Monsters and breeding to populate the island. The Mirror Islands are mirror versions of the Natural Islands, only with a slightly different appearance. All Mirror island cost Diamonds, each one getting 100 Diamonds more expensive as you go (i.e. Mirror Plant costs 100, Mirror Cold costs 200, etc.). When a Natural Island is bought from the Map or Market, a Ready-to-hatch Tweedle will be in the Nurseries already. Gold Island is where monsters are placed once they have leveled to fifteen. No currency is produced on Gold Island, so it is mainly to show off. The Ethereal and Shugabush Islands require teleporting monsters from the Natural Islands to begin breeding (Single element Ethereals and the Shugabush, respectively). Tribal Island is a place for players to form a Tribe and get as many members as possible to complete the song and free the mysterious Kayna. Wublin Island contains unique monsters, called Wublins, that need to be "awoken" by zapping eggs of the monsters found on the Natural Islands into their statues. The Fire Islands are 2 islands (Fire Haven and Fire Oasis) are locations where the natural monsters can breed with the Kayna to create some of the fire hybrids formerly exclusive to the prequel game. Composer Island is very different than the other islands; it allows the player to create their own unique tunes for each Monster. Other attributes are that it is the largest island in the game, and multiple Monsters of the same species can have different songs. There are many other islands as well (See above). Further explore the world of My Singing Monsters through unique drawings, plenty of colors, textures and frames to make each picture you produce a unique creation.

There is a list of which Monsters like what items on each island. There is also a list of which decorations are liked by each Monster. Epic Monsters are special variants that are even harder to get than Rare Monsters that are also only available for limited times. Instead of sharing a breeding combination with their Rare and Common counterparts, each Epic Monster has a unique combination that differs from Island to Island, which do not follow a logical pattern. Epic Monsters cannot be selected to breed in the breeding structure. All limited time Monsters that a player currently doesn't have registered are now grayscaled instead of being colored. This was done to alleviate any confusion players might have over unregistered monsters. They are also slightly more brighter compared to unregistered common monsters to make it easier to see which monsters a player doesn't have. Some special Monsters like, Ethereals, Shugabush, Mythicals, Seasonals, and Epics, aren't determined by a specific element combination, and instead need two specific Monsters.Dipsters are monsters that have the Dipster element and only play one music note. They pop up from the ground each time they sing a note. Every note is a "dip," singing a certain pitch depending on what their name is. They also have different natural items on their heads.

What's the 411? A little advice for aspiring Fires: you'll get put out if you don't get a little wild! The Monster-Handlers are Fired up to announce the FIRE EXPANSION!

You do not have to place a Monster to 'discover' it (excluding Wubbox) - simply hatching it will still add it to the Book of Monsters. During the time between Version 1.4.1 and Version 2.0.3. the game is not recommended on iPhone 3GS, due to the low resolution of what it outputs, or the iPod Touch (4th generation), as it often crashes the game.
