You want to hold the Brinkmann Swirl Finder Light about 12" to 16" away from the surface you're inspecting and hold it at an angle so that the light bounces back to your eyes. I work outside a lot, as most mobile detailers do, but I also have a 5000 lumen LED on a stand that’s incredibly bright but doesn’t work well in sunlight. You can also use greatshields with Thrusting Swords, Heavy Thrusting Swords, or Spears for a stamina-friendly combo that lets you attack without dropping your guard.

Greatshields can be modified by Ashes of War, allowing you to change their Skill and their Damage Reductions when Blocking. Seppuku being nerfed is also a good thing for twinblades, now freeing up more AoW choices since you don't have to rebuff and heal every few minutes. Shield poking is in a great spot right now imo, if you want to spam it, you really need to spec your entire build around it, but otherwise, its a decent mixup move that works best when used as a follow up to punish people that try to challenge your attack.
