About this deal

The KXXS are a single dynamic driver design, as opposed to the hybrid setup in the Yume. In terms of sound, there are also a few differences. The KXXS have a more V-shaped sound signature while the Yume are more neutral-natural. For bass response, both of them have a similar quantity, but the KXXS dig deeper and have a faster punch, making the KXXS the more bassy option. Staging and Imaging seem fairly good for an IEM. Maybe it’s the Combo DD/Planar driver but there appears a slight added dimension to the overall sound that I didn’t notice with my Moondrop Starfield or KZ Z10 pros. The Rinko is an average sounding IEM in terms of technical performance; the stage is large, the imaging could be better, the separation is hardly perceptible, the details aren't particularly forthcoming, and the resolving speed is sufficient to maintain the mix's flow. My target sound signature is crinacle’s IEF neutral with sub-bass boost or Harman 2019 v2 with reduced upper mids gain. However, V-shaped or U-shaped will also work as long as there are sufficient technicalities. Congestion, bass bloat, and muddiness are a big no for me.

The Moondrop KXXS (in my opinion) are the IEMs that the SeeAudio Yume are coming after. They have several similarities. Both of them are tuned based on a targeted sound curve, the KXXS are tuned to Moondrop’s own Virtual Diffusion Sound Field, and the Yume to the Harman Curve. Both have waifus on the box as a selling point and are beautifully crafted. However, they still have a couple of differences to distinguish them. Having said that, it does scale with source and power, source will affect the overall presentation in terms of soundstage and dynamics (based on my own listening experience) Certainly there is a hint of planar in Rinko's upper register, but compared to a full planar like 7Hz Timeless, I would say that 70% of the timbre is derived by dynamic and 30% by planar. Since this unit tour was organised by the wonderful people at Hifigo, I am grateful to them. And as I've said in all of my evaluations, the same is true for this one: all of the concepts I've expressed below are entirely my own, original ideas that haven't been influenced by anyone else. When it comes to sound quality, the SeeAudio Rinko IEMs are tuned for a fun V-shaped sound signature. Bass is definitely what is the star of the show here. Headphones: Mod House Tungsten DS | Final D8000 | ZMF Atrium | ZMF Vérité Closed Stabilized | ZMF Aeolus | Sennheiser HD6xx

Damage due to user negligence, accidents, disassembly, waterlog, misuse, abuse, alterations or vandalism.SeeAudio Rinko is a bold and daring contender for the need for energetic, vibrant and bassy sound indulgences. As simple as that. Not intended to be adept at some music genres, but it does amazingly well with modern type of music that entail lots of groove and vibe. Yeah, I don’t need to compare this two, Midnight is basically an improved and refined Yume, like everything in the Midnight is just miles ahead better than the Yume (while retaining the vocal clarity on the Yume), you may lose the breathy and nuanced vocals that Yume has but Midnight converts that niche to a much nicer and all-rounder sound signature plus it has wider stage… just buy the Midnight you don’t need more reason as to why. 𝗠𝗶𝗱𝗻𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝘀 All in all, I don't have time or the energy to be more exhaustive and precise but I think if you're looking for some amazing bass with spectacular imaging and some pretty decent soundstage (wider than the Monarch, I have to add), this is definitely it. The sub bass is deep and dynamic, you feel a good amount of reverb without being overwhelming enough to muddy the soundstage.

As for resolution capabilities, both macro-dynamics and micro-dynamics are quite contrasting as Rinko is able to have ample impact on its note weight although compression of some dynamics is quite noticeable on this one while it has a satisfactory detail retrieval capability for a micro flat panel driver. While an external amplifier is not required for the SeeAudio Yume, an amp, such as the iFi ZEN CAN, yields a punchier bass response. Although, the difference compared with using the Yume directly from my laptop or a DAP is subtle. An extremely ergonomic designed shell. Finally, I will only evaluate the Rinko based on their performance, even though I will explain how it feels and seems physically and aesthetically. On instruments, strings like acoustic guitars have a bright and crisp sound while violins have bright and metallic sound, and then harps have a blurring and splashing tone from them. As for woodwind instruments, flutes and fifes have a bright and penetrating sound, piccolos have bright and intense, although sometimes they are a bit piercing, clarinets have bright and brilliant sound and saxophones have a reedy and forceful sound from them. Other instruments like snare drum and kettledrums have a bright, sharp and dry sound while brasses like horns and trombones have a sharp, metallic and jarring noise. Piano tones appear to have a brighter tone than being warm sounding. There are no warranties other than expressly set forth herein.Rinko’s 6mm driver is a newly patented planar, try it yourself, we are happy and open for a third party audit“ The Yume have a more forward midrange compared to the KXXS, which are a step behind. This makes the Yume create better vocal clarity and resolution. The KXXS still have a decent amount of detail, just that they aren’t as potent as the Yume. Rinko brings us the goodness of Planar and Dynamic Driver units in a single pair of IEMs. With a custom-developed dynamic driver unit, the pair is able to achieve deep-hitting lower end producing an impactful bass response. The Planar Driver implements the output with its extreme details, fast transients, and ultra-high-frequency extensions!! Precisely Designed 6mm Planar Driver:-

Note: I did see a change in the initial sound after a day or so of use. The overall sound relaxed further. While burn-in isn’t “required” there was a difference. Rinko is easy to drive, reaching my usual listening volume without any efforts on Apple’s Lightning Dongle I swapped the ear tips later testing a variety of others that I had on hand. Including some Dekoni foam tips. The foams matched very similarly to the Renders in sound performance. Using other silicon tips took some of the bass out of the sound but still left a V-shaped IEM. I find the Render or foam tips to be best for overall listening. Feeding it with more power (Gain+ on Earmen Angel), more dynamics, mid range somehow comes forward a little, bass has better control (tighter)

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Comparison: I thought this was going to be a Legato, but with a Waifu and more resolving, it was not. I find it sonically a strong value comparison at this price range if you want a V-shaped iem. The Z12 will often go on sale for 135 and has an amazing cable (60 dollar cable) vs the cable in the Rinko feels about a 20 dollar cable.
