is a summer staple for me, but I apply it under my arms along with crystal mineral deodorant, or later in the day after I've sweat a bit but am not ready for a shower. I also kind of like that it’s longevity is nonexistent; that means that you can spray it 15 times on your body, experiencing 20 seconds of pure bliss and then smelling it fade away in the following 20 minutes. The famous Molanus bottle, designed by Heinrich Peter Molanus of Cologne, is unique and a veritable head-turner.

Favoured by John F Kennedy (if the rumours are to be believed) and also sprinkled on the neck of Holly Golightly in the original book of Breakfast at Tiffanys!Forever etched in my senses as the perfume my Oma loved for the entirety of her life, so I love it for those nostalgic memories of her. is a classic fragrance that takes its name from the building in Glockengasse, Cologne where it was created in 1792.

The larger bottle size is convenient, as it reduces the need for frequent repurchasing, allowing my family to indulge in the fragrance for an extended period. A good Eau de Cologne is all about living in the moment, and embracing the peculiar exuberance that only a splash of bright citrus can bring. The fragrance itself is not something I would probably wear on my body, and many other folks have mentioned in the comments that the scent is more about the act of anointing than making you smell like something. Of course the citrus top notes don't last but a minute, then this delicious honey-like aroma takes over and sends me over the Moon at every sniff. Additionally, I find it useful from a historical perspective; as I continue to learn about perfume and study individual samples, I appreciate having one of the oldest (yet still in production) commercially available fragrances on hand to compare the art of fragrance today to the way it was hundreds of years ago. This comes from another time, another era (early 18th C), when dousing yourself in smell was improper/sacrilege? But all I can tell is that people often compare this one to Przemysławka eau de cologne from Poland.

The soothing and fresh appeal of the fragrance composition reflects a timeless elegance that founder Wilhelm Mülhens recognised and successfully marketed at the time. Both are in an old class of scents that were used as "bath splash," the kind of thing you might wear if you are cleaning up but not going anywhere that requires a formal perfume. Worth having just for the historical significance and as a quick splash on for no real reason other than to wear it.

For best results, splash a generous quantity of the contents onto pulse points and apply as required throughout the day. Alcohol, water (aqua), fragrance (parfum), limonene, linalool, citral, hydroxycitronellal, geraniol, citronellol.

But when needs a pure fragrance made from the ingredients of our region/farmland and continent, that won't disappoint or offend anyone, that is wearable in any weather and for any occasion, surely knows where to reach.I still enjoy it after a shower in hot weather, and it really won’t interfere with any other scent I may apply. She kept a bottle of this in every bathroom in her house, and some of my earliest memories are of the blue and gold label.
