Now I get aggravated at instalove books, where the H and h are madly in love after 3 days and married 2 weeks in kinda thing. I liked the inclusivity of Cambric Creek and the way Violet examines her previously held prejudices and privilege as she learns about the community. I found myself pondering why I was reading this and also wondering why I was enjoying the romance in it so much. Most of the book is just Violet and Rourke only meeting at the farm, but when they finally start meeting outside of it, it gets to the juicy shit.

One of her coworkers, who is some kind of part-insect, said: “There’s a sexual element in it for the clients, obviously, and that’s not even true for all of them. Violet is resolved to make a dent in her student loans and afford name-brand orange juice, and a one-sided crush on an out-of-her-league minotaur is not a part of her plan—unless her feelings aren't so one-sided after all. There’s also some commentary about people (well, in this case, minotaurs) being commodified which added to the mix.The writing was great (though it does switch between past and present a bit much) and the romance was so…. So this is probably the sweetest romance I could imagine for a premise that is so rooted in an erotic kink. Lastly, it does not escape me that I am giving this book the same rating that I gave Jane Austin’s Pride and Prejudice, I hope my 12th grade English teacher never finds my profile here.

I thought this was going to be one of those sleazy one shots but the author actually put a LOT of effort into the world-building, so we hear all about the different kinds of clients that come to Morning Glory to be milked. If you're looking for a quick, fun read, with some very sexy non-human/human interaction, details on how to properly milk a minotaur, and lots of fluids, this is for you. So not only are we getting some backdoor action, but she's fingered him before and it wasn't on page?

She reads contemporary, historical, a little paranormal, urban fantasy and romantic suspense, as well as erotic romance and more recently, new adult. And the cover for this book alone tells a story that either draws you in or repels you, are latex gloves sexy? This is set in a world full of monsters, like vampires, orgs, elves and most importantly, minotaurs. Gotta say if you don't like long-ass paragraphs that just contain the MC's internal monologue or contemplation. This isn't what the hero looks like at all (nor what I imagined him to be), but the world building reminded me too much of Zootopia with mythical creatures.

Morning Glory Milking Farm is my first monster romance, and I’ve got to say, it managed to be exactly what I expected it to be, but also unexpected in how sweet the romance was. I immediately was intrigued by Violet’s predicament and enjoyed the slow reveal of her job description. However, I had a long drive to a doctor’s appointment and the audiobook was on my Hoopla recommendations.
