I think I do pick up some of the dragon fruit in the opening, but it’s more in a supporting role for the orange blossom than that it’s doing anything interesting for itself. This is just a berry/sweeter version of the opium and to be honest, still misses the mark with this one, as I find it now far too sweet but also heavy and still headache inducing. But this flanker seem to satisfy my craving for sour fruits and deep powdery toasty coffee-ish combos. Don't get me wrong, I love Black Opium in general, and this one is close enough to the original to smell pleasant, but it's a little bland. I can't really distinguish notes here, smells warm and sweet, with a little bit of coffee, vanilla, and ripe banana.

Its iconic round window gets lit by a luminous fuchsia juice whom intensity seems to break out on each side. Warm coffee, tart fruits that mellow out within about ten minutes, something soft and vanilla-esque lingering around at the bottom.

When it comes to Black Opium EDP, I could never stand how intense it is so I opted for versions of it lacking the stinky coffee note /element, like La Rive's Touch of Woman or PB Premiere Editions version which is lighter, crisp and a cross between the Black Opium EDT and the EDP.

This is exactly what I experienced with 'Perfect' and 'Alien' and 'Libre' - the love at first sniff quickly turned into "This is too strong for me! A bold interpretation of the Black Opium’s coffee note, enhanced by the thrilling aura of blue absinth for intensity.Some would probably judge this as being basic, and TBH they wouldn't be entirely wrong -- for better or for worse, it has a palpable "Sephora" energy.

sorry to say it's a bit dissapointing, I was hoping the "neon" would make it more sharp or bold or striking but to my nose it is rather benign: pretty but not very unique and more faint than the original: not very "neon" at all.I did 3 sprays on each arm from a sample and after like 30 seconds, it was already subtle on my skin. Not to mention that the design is inspired by Chinese snuff bottles and is in line with the name, the original opium perfume and both the current opium bottle as well as the historical ones. This fragrance is a perfect balance of daring and feminine, leaving a lasting impression on anyone who wears it. The base heralds back to that original YSL Black Opium EDP signature with Coffee, Vanilla and Cedarwood.
