I was close before with DAWs, but had always used dedicated USB audio interfaces without vocal/guitar amp modelling, I’d messed about with DAW effects plugins but quickly found out that latency reared it’s ugly head the more effects you applied to the monitor send. I'm not enjoying the sound quality on the BR800 at all - you really notice if you convert a good quality wav recording to mt2 to put on to the BR800 as a backing track - simply ruins it sounds like compressed mush. Sign up to the Boss UK monthly newsletter and look forward to the latest gear news, artist-related features, how-to guides and much more in your inbox. When using it in standard multitrack mode, it saves your recordings in it's own proprietary format, that is "HiFi (MT2) Roland/BOSS original format".

No matter where you roam, you'll never miss a moment of musical inspiration with the portable new BR-800. You can power the BR-800 from the included AC adaptor, or, for ultimate mobility, it can be powered from six AA batteries - you can literally record anywhere! I fell in love, it was around half the size of the BR-8, with sleek rubber buttons that reminded me of my ZX Spectrum 48k back in the day, and a rather fetching champagne colour.

There's also a built-in stereo condenser microphone plus a DR-880-quality rhythm generator for adding drum and percussion tracks to your songs. Another major problem for me is that the mixer level settings cannot be saved in the song data file. Quote from: IanR on November 10, 2019, 12:22:55 AMIt does take time to learn but using a DAW is a much better and easier way to manage recordings. Boss don't support the BR600 any more so it doesn't work with my PC on Windows 10 so anything I record I have to export to an old laptop with Vista then transfer on a memory stick to my PC to tidy it up on audacity and convert to MP3.

If I'm not mistaken, The BR-800 came out in 2010, the MICRO BR BR-80 in 2011, and there's been nothing new since, and everything else has been discontinued (BR-8, BR-532, BR-600, Micro BR, BR-864, BR-900CD, BR-1180/1180CC, BR-1200CD, BR-1600 CD).To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average.

Unfortunately, you won't be able to use a matched pair of condensers, as phantom power is available on just one input channel. BOSS continues its top-selling tradition of portable, affordable multi-trackers with the new BR-800 — a battery-powered studio to go.BOSS really hit it out of the park with BR-600, and I spent a lot of my time happily recording with it, making the most out the great sounding COSM vocal and guitar amp models, in particular the GUITAR to BASS patch, which provided hours of fun. That aside it's business as usual - it's a portable, easy-to-operate machine that offers onboard rhythm programming and a host of onboard effects that can be recorded as part of the input signal, including some guitar and bass amp sims and effects derived, this time, from the GT-10/10B and vocal effects from the new VE-20.
