Description

The PRO's portafilter is held onto the cylinder by an o-ring in the cylinder (it's best not to lubricate that o-ring for a stronger grip). The features I like most in the PRO include the substantial stainless steel cylinder with a silicone cap for preheating. For an optimal ratio of pushing on the lever, the coffee machine also has a Integrated pressure gaug. The Pro 2 also features an integrated pressure gauge for enhanced pressure profiling, expand capacity for brew ratios, and an enhanced stainless steel experience featuring an all stainless steel brewing head and our flashy two-piece drip tray. This type of machine is for the espresso traditionalist who wants to pull smooth, rich shots without the reliability of electricity.

Each Flair PRO 2 manual espresso maker is also capable of handling various brew ratios from 1:1, 2:1 and 3:1, ensuring that you can extract exactly the espresso you want, right from your home. You'll know you're at proper fineness of grind and dose if your pull takes about 40 - 45 seconds, overall, including pre-infusion. Maintaining all the performance of the original PRO, the PRO 2 features four upgrades including a removable spout, an enhanced bottomless portafilter, a gauge guard for increased durability and a silicone grip for better brewing ergonomics. In all, the Flair Signature PRO is an attractive, very capable kit that can travel and can repeatedly brew excellent espresso across the full range of roast levels. If you are looking for an upgrade or a spare part, you can find here everything from drip trays, temperature strips, pistons to second shot kits.

The upgrade path (encore grinder, signature machine, perfetto grinder, pro 2 brew head ) worked its wonders! The user experience thread shows some awkwardness with the flat shower screen, which is entirely flat, lacking a center grip to place it over the coffee cake.

Flavor separation will be improved by well-aligned grinders, and dialing in the grind will be easier with one that has more adjustment choices within the espresso range. Intact Idea’s liability under this warranty shall be limited to repair or replacement of the defective part(s), whichever may apply. F/80°C and steeply declines to 153°F/67°C 25 seconds in -- actual pour-in started 10 seconds after Artisan started recording -- and settles into a more gradual decline as the brew water and brew chamber temperatures approximate each other.I prepare the cylinder by making sure the piston is at the top of its travel -- for denser shots you can pre-set the piston a bit lower in the cylinder to reduce the fill.

I'll get into comparing grinders later, but anyone who has a grinder that's producing repeatable and tasty espresso shots with another machine should find that adequate to the PRO. As you can see from the photos, a good friend of mine also brought over their Cafelat Robot to test side by side, so I will be following up with a direct comparison between those two machines. The steam method did seem to produce shots with more crema, so perhaps that’s true, but more on that later. The workflow and ritual experience are also great: the materials feel just that little bit heftier and durable, the bottom of the portafilter has better visibility, shots look great and the increase in pressure makes me connect with the brewing process even more. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which may vary from state to state and country to country. The brew head is larger, hence letting you set different ratios and dial in your extractions with the pressure gauge. I could do with or without the pressure gauge, and didn’t find the larger water reservoir necessary, as I could easily pull shots with 42 -45 gram yield without using all the water in the brew chamber. In terms of equipment, along with the Flair PRO 2 I'm using 1zpresso K-Max grinder, a custom made WDT tool and a scale with miligrams precision. If you have precisely dialed in your dose and grind, the Flair team tells me you can start with the piston positioned slightly lower to reduce the water fill. All above warranties apply only when the product and parts are used in accordance with all operating instructions.

I've found that with a dark roast (to second crack, where oil is starting to release from the beans), I can start with a cylinder at room temperature and pour in water at 193°F/89°C.It is the most sophisticated model we offer, which will prepare you a truly excellent coffee at the level of a professional coffee machine.
