Don’t forget that the Axissfix Air can rearward face to approximately 2 years old which we would always recommend however when tested forward facing against other Maxi Cosi forward facing seat, the Axissfix Air is 55% safer. The only real con I can identify is the fact it can only be used rearward facing until approximately 2 years. For safety conscious parents who have been following the iSize regulations closely, they may prefer a seat that can remain rearward facing until they are four. For us personally, we would most likely change to forward facing within this time scale anyway, so it wasn’t a major concern for me. Obviously this isn't a problem when forward facing but as the advice is to keep children rear facing for longer, we spent most journeys trying to persuade her not to play with it... The Maxi-Cosi AxissFix also offers great value for money, as it can be used for a longer period of time compared to other car seats. This is due to the adjustable features and durable construction, which make it a great investment for parents looking for a car seat that can be used for multiple years. Mike installed the seat for me, however, I think it was so straight forward that I may have been able to do this on my own without assistance (this is a rarity!). There are also detailed videos available on YouTube which may be easier to follow for those that prefer visual instructions. Most other 360 seats use a rebound bar and have an adjustable leg to prevent the seat from tipping forward in the event of an accident. The top tether system adds another level of complexity when fitting the seat - you have to thread the belt under the rear headrest and then go in through the boot to hook it onto the tether point. So it's not the sort of seat you want to be moving between cars on a regular basis. The five point harness on the AxissFix Plus is one of my favourite elements of the chair. The straps are really long when fully extended which I found a real positive, making it super easy to get even the most wriggly of children in and out. The straps also have a rubber underside, making it harder for younger babies to slip out of the harness and keeping the protective shoulder pads in place.
