Despite being a romcom, there was plenty of character growth and much respect for Violet's less than conventional college plan. Erin La Rosa, author of For Butter or Worse When an American interning at a fashion house in Rome butts heads with her professor's surly son, sparks fly! They’re horrified to be living together, and their angry/witty antics carry on through daily run-ins, chic fashion parties and adventures through Rome.Violet needs to win this competition to launch her fashion career but sparks fly as she spends more time with Matt and the distraction might cost her the prize. Overall, it was a sweet RomCom with great banter, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to read and review! At 20 she left fashion school to follow a man who then left her (he is selfish, but as time goes on in the book it becomes clear that both of them know that though they like each other, maybe even love each other as friends, they are not a match but they have been together so long they are terrified to let go of one another. I spent a couple of weeks in Rome and Tuscany a few years ago and did not have nearly as much fun as Violet did. I’d suggest throwing on your favorite Italian music, and pouring yourself a glass of Prosecco, maybe a delicious charcuterie board, because you deserve it.

Shortly after arriving in Rome, Violet falls in a cafe spilling coffee everywhere and breaking a man's laptop. We like to have a little fun around here, below you find an outline for our rating system, everything is out of 5. Violet Luciano, 29, gets a step closer to the professional dreams that she put on hold for her ex-boyfriend when she wins the opportunity to intern with a fashion designer in Rome for a month. From the moment Violet destroys Matt's laptop, the snarky dialog grabbed me and had me quickly turning pages.I loved Violet immediately and despite Matt's grumpy demeanor, his witty sarcasm had me wrapped around his finger. Continuing on to her final destination and determined to leave her very embarrassing mishap with an unnecessarily (yet insanely attractive) man behind, Violet finally arrives at the professor’s residence that will be her little slice of heaven for the next three weeks. At a café in Rome, Violet accidentally knocks into someone’s table, ruining the man’s laptop and drink.

I have been meaning to read a novel by Kate Bromley for a while now, and I'm thrilled I started with Ciao For Now. Much of the book is set in Rome which I loved, but I also really enjoyed that it ended in New York with Violet realizing precisely what she needs to do.
