However, the events in between the action scenes focused on some of the not-so-important elements of the story that would generally not interest children. I did quibble about how strongly Ann was made to look like Monroe early on, and it was weird she got bought so much stuff and only ever wore one cocktail dress the entire cruise to Skull Island. I bought this for my nine year old son, who is a big fan of the film of King Kong, and he was riveted.
