Displaying the model in this configuration does create an issue though because the steps no longer cover the whole frontage.

The prophecy shelving has a decent play feature to simulate knocking it over, but again it's forcing you to play outside of the included room, rather than actually having enough space for minifigures to interact with the room properly. Grimmauld Place fills a conspicuous gap in the LEGO Harry Potter theme and has proven impressive, in many respects.I absolutely love how DH Part 1 rendered the trio's mission to infiltrate the Ministry of Magic - it's probably my favourite sequence in the film - but I doubt many people were jonesing for a Mary Cattermole Minifigure, and one on which LEGO has lavished a leg print to boot. The three other rooms are a sitting area with a nice armchair, and bedrooms for both Sirius and Regulus. Kreacher’s print is more simple, while Molly’s print also extends onto her legs and is best characterised as a very Molly-ish style.

Thanks to the Unplottable Charm placed on the house it can only be seen by wizards and doesn’t appear on any maps. It is best remembered for how it first appeared, popping up out of nowhere as terraced properties 11 and 13 Grimmauld Place shifted sideways, much to the obliviousness of the muggle neighbours inside. LEGO has in recent years been busy releasing LEGO Harry Potter sets that cover characters or locations that had previously not been represented in LEGO.The function that reveals number twelve is outstanding and I think the exterior looks marvellous, while the interior includes numerous details from the movies.

From minifigures to full-on castle sets, the LEGO Harry Potter collection has something for every fan, young or old. The back of the box shows 12 Grimmauld Place from the back, with insets that illustrate the appearing/disappearing feature and highlight some of the locations around the interior. In fact, the popularity of LEGO Harry Potter sets has grown exponentially since the release of the first one in 2001. Kreacher has a moulded head, so no ability to have an alternative face print on that, but we get that for both Sirius and Molly.

To the right we have one of my favourite things – the tapestry of the Black family tree complete with Sirius Black and other unpopular family members blasted off. Despite this, investing in these sets can be profitable over the long term, as they are likely to increase in value due to their rarity. It may be a while till I get to that, as I’m eager to start my review of the 2018 Hogwarts Castle – the only D2C (direct to consumers) set I haven’t reviewed yet. Nymphadora Tonks, on the other hand, represents a notable improvement upon the version from 75980 Attack on the Burrow.
