If these cookies are not allowed, visits and behaviour cannot be included in these analyses and evaluations. That's the typical orientation, because the wider parts represents the longer fingers and the thumb (supposedly, first time I consciously think about it). Other cookies remain on your end device and enable us or our partner companies (third-party cookies) to recognise your browser on your next visit (persistent cookies). If these cookies are not allowed, some or all of these services may not work or may not work properly.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. The palm is just solid and flat, unlike a real hand, but I don't think that detracts from the articulation at all, because of the range of movement in the fingers and thumb. I just showed someone, who knows hardly anything about Lego, a minifigure with its hands orientated differently and she said the flat-topped, wider section up hand looked better. It is used to hold weapons (such as the Part x1740), objects and tools (such as a cup) or LEGO bricks. Some LEGO® sets contain small parts that are NOT suitable for and may pose a hazard to children under 3 years of age. The Robot Hand can pick up the carrier from two different sides – the smooth white side and the studded blue side.

If these cookies are not permitted, information, content and advertising may be perceived as less relevant. In fact, it's probably the one bit of Lego that I get all OCD over, it bothers me when the hands aren't 'right', even when I can't think of a reason for it. They have been made with a variety of colours and have come with every minifigure from 1978 until 1989, and are still in usage from 1989 to the present time. This model acts as a tool to help understand the structural makeup of the palm and achieves this in very few pieces. Some things require the hand to be sideways, generally in this case I have the flat side on the inside and curved side on the outside of the minifig.BUT, the default for me is with the flat side up, so if the fig is emptyhanded the hand is flat side up.

I find that the design and articulation of human prosthesis very interesting, and would be very beautiful in LEGO form. Experiment by adding different materials to the Robot Hand for a better and safer grip that also causes less damage. Yeah, there maybe a few missed ones, but I'm pretty sure the numbers (of MF in that hand orientation on official lego images) don't lie.

Minifigure hands have appeared in every set that contains a LEGO minifigure, which means it has appeared in almost every LEGO set since 1978, when it was created.

If they're not holding anything, they're usually upside down, since that's how they came from the factory or how I positioned them when they were holding something. The color of the plates really doesn't matter, and I think it would look better in a metallic silver. This trend continued until 1989, when the first different shaped LEGO hands came out, which was in the form of a pirate hook.
