The early hours drag on with a poor cut-scene-to-play-time ratio, but once the stage is set, Snake Eater leaves you to play for hours on end with few substantial interruptions. Imagine if you bought a boxed set of the Harry Potter movies, but films 1 and 5 were missing; it doesn’t diminish the quality of the other entries, but it does make the collection less appealing as a whole.

They mention that the games look quite good, have a steady frame rate, and are perfectly redesigned and remastered in glorious HD. Rather than simply rewarding players for doing things they have to do anyway if they want to progress (though there also are trophies for that), MGS HD Collection rewards players for finding the fun little easter eggs that make Metal Gear Solid so great. After the manic storytelling of MGS2, Snake Eater reins it in for the most focused game in the series. this game suppresses all factors that a game should be It's a intense third person shooter with a in depth storyline that will leave you wanting more. It gives the game an RPG flavour, playing like a cross between traditional Metal Gear and Monster Hunter (right down to Capcom's prehistoric bosses making hidden cameos). Not to brag, but I got all of the dog tags in Metal Gear Solid 2 and shot every Kerotan in Metal Gear Solid 3 when the games released on PlayStation 2.The downside to this collection is that it doesn't include the original Metal Gear Solid or the other PSP MGS, Portable Ops. The PS3 version of Peace Walker has a similar connectivity with the PSP version of the game, allowing the transferring of save files through a USB connection. Once you get out of the early missions, that aspect fades away, but it's definitely a rough start to the games and an intro I doubt you'd see nowadays.The Secret Theater is also out, which is sad, because everyone wanted to see Raiden go back in time and get trampled by a horse in glorious HD. saying, "if you loved these three gruff, gravel-voiced games on their original releases, or missed them the first time around, they're certainly worth adding (or re-adding, or, if you're like me, re-re-adding) to your library. Regardless of this lack of cohesion, all three games (or five, rather, as the 8-bit Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake are included as a bonus in Snake Eater) stand up as being some of the most daring and inventive titles to come about in the last decade. I enjoyed this game when it came out on the PSP nearly two years ago and still do, but out of the three in this collection, it's definitely my least favourite. The fans each had characters from the collection, with two being from Metal Gear Solid 2 and two from Metal Gear Solid 3.
