Frank Herbert's science fiction classic Dune will be seen like never before in the breath-taking film adaptation from acclaimed director Denis Villeneuve (Blade Runner 2049, Arrival). There are a few things from the movie it missed (some of the symbolism, such as the wave of sand crashing against the rocks when Paul and Jessica encounter the sandworm), but there is so much to explore.

His illustrations for Dune were painted in oil on board, with the black-and-white chapter headings in ink and charcoal on paper.E. Lawrence’s Bedouin desert revolt to cutting-edge terraforming techniques and the burgeoning environmentalist movement. After 15 years working as an on-camera reporter, she made the leap to film with "Arrival" and "Blade Runner 2049", continuing on as executive producer on "Dune" and as producer on "Dune: Part Two". The resulting article gained Lynch’s favour and in the Spring of 1983, Godwin found himself hired by Universal Studios to help document the production of Dune in Mexico. Director Denis Villeneuve ( Blade Runner 2049, Arrival) will once more display his science fiction mastery when his much-anticipated adaptation of Frank Herbert’s Dune releases in late 2021 courtesy of Legendary Entertainment and Warner Bros. In 1959 he began work on his most famous work, Dune, which was serialised by Analog magazine between 1963 and 1965.

As a life long fan of the novel (my GOAT) and a believer that the movie is one of the greatest ever made, I am totally delighted by this book. The first adventure in the Folio Society editions of ‘The Magic Faraway Tree’ series, Enid Blyton’s The Enchanted Wood features Jonathan Burton’s enchanting illustrations and a new introduction by Michael Morpurgo. It's a very inspirational thing to leaf through, with a good variety of concept art for locations, vehicles, costumes and more, from a number of artists. He initially sends his master at arms, Duncan Idaho, to form an alliance with the native Fremen, who, encased in still suits that recycle all their body fluids, can survive in seemingly impossible conditions. The Road to Dune, a unique collaboration between Herbert and Hugo Award-winning artist Jim Burns, is a guided tour of his most famous invented world and a must for all the many millions of Dune fans.

Definitely one for the Christmas list and worthy of a place in our best sci-fi movie books ever collection. The intergalactic empire controlled by a privileged aristocracy raises all the old questions of human interaction in a strange yet weirdly familiar setting. No wonder the movie had such a fascinating impression on the audience and the book really helps to get into the mind of the director. Now fans can be part of the creative journey of bringing Herbert's seminal work to life with The Art and Making of Dune , the only official companion to the hugely anticipated movie event. it comes in a cardboard sleeve that you don't see on the product images and the printing has produced texture on the pages.
