The sensor determines differences in beard density at different locations, and power is controlled to provide powerful cutting where your beard isheavy and soft cutting where it is thin. I personally find both equally good, but it just goes to show that the older one can represent a viable option if you can find it for a great price. Final word on choosing the right Arc 5 foil and blades I prefer to change both the blades and the foils even when some of them seem to be in better shape. Pairing a worn foil with new blades won’t get the best out of the blades and some micro-warping of the foils may actually increase the wear of the new blades.

I think you should get the ES-LV65-S and in the future just upgrade to the ES9036 set (that comes standard on the ES-LV6Q). It’s definitely more convenient than buying a gen 3 Arc 5. Illuminated LED indicates shave time, battery capacity, shaving sensor mode, foil/blade replacement and cleaning reminder. However, the foils and blades used by the various Arc 5 models have mostly undergone incremental changes. The exception is Europe where the revision G Arc 5 shavers were officially released under the Series 900 name. The cutting edge of the inner blades is an acute 30°to enable them to cut the hair at its base for an incredibly close shave. Honed with nano levelprecision to be as sharp as possible, the blades are driven by a high-speed linear motor to maximize their cutting ability. As a result, they cut smoothly through the toughest beards. Multi-fit arc blades for close andgentle shaveI have a ESLV65 shaver, about 3 years old. I want to replace the foil and blade with WES9036 parts, which I understand you to recommend. Given that the cost of these is around 40-50% of teh cost of a new shaver, do you think it is worth it to replace the foil and blades, or should I just go ahead and buy a new ESLV65? What I am worried about is the battery on my shaver. It seems fine now, but how much life might be left in it? Do these batteries typically last 4-5 years? I generally shave every day.. The revisions E and F also have a different foil compared to the C and D models, at least in the sense that it has a different part number.

Illuminated liquid blue crystal display-LCD battery status and charge indicator plus cleaningreminder to keep your blades fresh The multi-flex active pivoting head allows the shaver glide uniformly over the chin and the jaw line for more efficient coverage and maximum comfort. The 14,000 fast, linear motor drive system eliminates the tugging and pulling that can occur with slower shavers and also maintain peak power right up to the end of the charge. Face-Hugging Multi-Flex Pivoting Head i haven’t used the new shaver yet since i shaved thursday with the gilette and since i didn’t receive the new one till friday, but i was wondering if you feel i made a good choice to get that model of arc5? It’s also the one that features the most radical change as the middle cutter was completely redesigned instead of just tweaked. The rollers are now silver instead of gold, so it’s very easy to differentiate them from the older ones. Also, as I am using an inexpensive Braun S3 skinpro, despite the fact Braun is supposed to provide more comfort/less burn than the equivalent more aggressive Panasonic Arc, does this still hold try when comparing S3 (low end) vs ARC 5 (high end) ? i spent a lot of time reading the differences and pros and cons in all the electric shavers that you wrote about, that’s what brought me to the decision to get the arc5 since you said it’s an extremely close shave and highly recommended it. Your less than ideal experience with the S3 could be caused by several factors, like pressing a bit too hard, going over an area repeatedly or maybe just having a coarser and denser beard. The S3 is a really basic shaver, very decent for the price, but more suitable for men with light to medium facial hair. Is there a Panasonic razor that shaves as well as the ESLV 65 with a different handle? My previous shaver was a Panasonic ESLA63, which I found more comfortable to hold, though it may not have shaved quite as close as the ESLV65.
