It's cozy and slightly edgy and quite different to my usual tastes—not incredibly groundbreaking but I actually really like it. The iris is a stunning supporting note that I feel really brings the composition together, it allows the woods to have a silky and powdery nuance. I could definitely smell the grapes and iris, too, but the warm caramel and ambery notes start to intensify during the drydown, and it really does smell very much like a candied apple or a fresh apple pie. When I first sprayed it, I was around several other folks, and people on the other side of the room were absolutely able to smell it so the sillage seems quite powerful, but mellows out over time. No sweetness, no fruitiness, definitely none of the spicy apple pie goodness that sold me on the fragrance in the first place. It's SO weird to me tho, that I have never heard any reviewer make this comparison, especially because a lot of people in fragcom own both of them. It’s strong and long lasting but I find myself reapplying just to smell those delectable fruits at the opening. With that said, I was expecting the smell of apple pie but instead I was met with a screeching blast of something my unsophisticated noise can’t describe.Overall I get a sweet, fruity caramel-apple-grapes scent punctuated by a suede-ambroxan note, and beast mode performance. Casablanca has a more forward fruitiness, while Mercedes Benz Club Black has a more forward vanilla.
