The company’s commitment to raising industry standards and leaving a positive imprint on our employees, consumers, communities and the environment is reflected in Our Beer Print and our 2025 sustainability targets. Notes of toasted malt and apple continue on the palate, backed with a slight herbal note, but the flavour of freshly-baked sourdough bread is most prominent in this light-bodied, refreshing pilsner. On the nose, aromas of honey, lemon peel, light roasted malt, sourdough bread, apple and some tropical fruit. Offshore Pilsner takes its name for when the wind turns offshore to create perfectly clean waves ideal for surfing. In addition, Sharp’s Wolf Rock and Camel Valley Pilsner both earned Silver medals, while Sharp’s Atlantic was awarded a Bronze.

Beer of the Week: Sharp’s Brewery Offshore Pilsner Established in 1994, Sharp’s Brewery has become the largest brewer of cask beer in the South West – based in Rock, Cornwall. In 2019, Sharp’s turned the tables on the music industry through ‘Keynvor’, a partnership with Mercury Music Prize nominee Nick Mulvey to produce the first playable vinyl made from recycled ocean plastic found on the Cornish coast. Sharp’s Brewery is a proud supporter of grassroots rugby in Cornwall and sponsors a number of local clubs. Named ‘World’s Best’, Sea Fury draws its inspiration from the stormy Atlantic seas that crash into the rugged Cornish coast during the long, dark winter. In addition to these accolades, Sharp’s also won five medals at the 2018 International Beer Challenge, two at the World Beer Awards 2018, five at the 2017 International Beer Challenge, including GOLD for Wolf Rock, five medals at the World Beer Awards 2017, five medals at the 2017 Beer Awards, the ‘People’s Favourite Cask Ale’ at Inapub’s People Choice Awards 2017, and Best Drink for Doom Bar in the food Reader Awards 2017.

The World Beer Awards is globally recognised, selecting the very best beers from thousands from all over the world and promoting these to consumers and trade across the globe. When I joined in September I knew it had been taken over and knew the history but it didn't have any bearing on my choice. They enrolled me on a diploma in brewing which is a distance learning course done through the Institute of Brewing and Distilling.Proceeds from sales of the exclusive ‘Ocean Vinyl’ including digital streams continue to go to Surfers Against Sewage to help protect British coastlines from pollution, including plastic waste. Ensnared in 330 millilitre cans designed by Neil Canning (a contemporary British artist renowned for his dramatic landscape paintings), Offshore Pilsner is brewed with Czech yeast and a blend of continental hops. It’s not like they splash the cash on vanity projects but they completely understood and supported the idea. Aaron : When the announcement was made I bumped into Paul in the car park after he visited the brewery.
