That message is muted almost to the point of nonexistence in this book, which is why I hesitate to rate it even one and a half stars, but I enjoy Christian Robinson's illustrations. There are times when some plot points will feel ridiculous, and there are way too many coincidences happening around that it takes away some immersion. There was just the right amount of choice to suit everyone without being overwhelming and I received comments from parents and staff about the quality of books offered compared to previous sales which have always been based around current crazes and well known celebrity authors. Stephen King, for example, released Joyland in 2013, just seven years after Emily Schultz published her debut novel of the same name. This wordless book literally opens minds to the prospect of parallel universes, to mirror images and reflections of self in others, to open-minded insights into worlds beyond our own.

Literally nothing, the main character is in a new school with kids that act weird and that's it until page 151. The youngest viewers may enjoy decoding the girl’s journey with some adult assistance, while more book-savvy kids will get a kick out of 'reading' the story all on their own. Angie is a woman who seems to have it all thanks to her easy upbringing, education, marriage and home life. The secondary characters support Hannah’s tale well and each add value worth to this compassionate story.I read it quickly and while I thought the illustrations were, as Christian Robinson’s always are, gorgeous. The journey back follows the same path but is now entirely different bc of each new friend you saw, each new place; another turn, another tunnel, another cat, another girl like you going back to her room too, another bedroom like yours, another person with dreams to dream.

Then you'd like Another, but be warned Another is good, really good but it's slow, really slow at first. Reminiscent of Mac Barnett and Jon Klassen's Sam and Dave Dig a Hole, Another isn't a bad book, as far as the illustrations go. All clues are given before Sakakibara's told anything, so it's really easy to miss the important hints, even if they're bolded.

The anime also added a scene during the climax part that wasn't in the book, which I guess added to the action. Many of them really do look three dimensional and that seems appropriate since the “story” is about a girl and her cat who discover another parallel dimension where they also exist in the middle of the night, so in their dreams? It is not a complete free-for-all and there are certain rules that govern what you can and can’t do. A wonderful - and essential - read for anyone interested in the world of wine, or even for those, like me, who just drink it.

What was so great was that colored spheres led to more of the same and where there was one there was soon another. The bulk of the pages is the typical black and white manga style but there are color pages between book breaks and they are absolutely stunning. Ooh, I like how the cover (book jacket) is so white, but you see the polka dots underneath, just like the “O” in Another.
