About this deal
Initially it was rather disappointing, but once the latest driver was installed it was quite impressive.
A tempered-glass version is available to builders who’d like to give others a clearer view of their internal components. Choose between two fan positions with a fan hub and fan bracket included exclusively in the North mesh cases. has been a big year for Fractal Design; the Swedish case company started off with the Torrent Compact, which was an impressive start. Two Aspect 14 PWM fans preinstalled with room to expand up to a total of four 140 mm or six 120 mm fans. Though it’s also available with a tempered-glass panel similar to its competitors, the version of the North we’re testing has a mesh left side that leaks noise just as easily as air.
Equipped with multiple fan mounting points, including front, top, and rear, you can customise your cooling setup to achieve optimal performance for even the most demanding tasks.
North reimagines the gaming PC, introducing natural materials and bespoke details to make gaming a stylish addition to the living space. You might assume the mesh improves thermals, but there's also evidence (at least in some cases) that air coming in from the side can be detrimental to the front-to-back airflow path. To be fair all the versions of this case are quite pleasant to look at, and the fact that they are decent cases as well makes it all the better.Their main product areas are Computer Cases, Power Supplies and Water Cooling units amongst other related accessories. Fractal's North, though, performed exceptionally well in our testing – especially with CPU thermals. Front-panel cables include a power switch lead, power LED, HD Audio (for the headphone and microphone jacks), a Gen 1 cable for the two Type-A ports and a Gen 2 cable for the single Type-C USB 3. The only other case we've tested recently with a mesh side panel was the Azza Aero 480, and that did not perform very well.
