About this deal

The story describes how on many occasions the group almost broke up, but was always kept together by their shared love of breaching musical boundaries. What Greg and Simon have done is meticulously put together quotes from Freddie throughout his career and shaped them into cohesive chapters, so the book reads almost like an autobiography.

A legend, that will live on, but one, who will never be able to put pen to paper and produce HIS auto-biography! Also, putting all of his words on a page really makes you realize how intelligent and articulate of a person he was. It was an easy read though, and I found it extremely interesting to read something from Freddie Mercury's own point of view. There’s also no set chronology, only themes to start chapters off and occasional notes to give the readers greater context of the time, place, or person Freddie is discussing.I think the concept and organization of this project warranted some more thought, but ultimately it was an interesting read. Wasnt that enjoyable to read, given the chapters were made up of different conversations had throughout the 70s and 80s. Overall, this book is an ode to Freddie Mercury that reflects what he said and what he saw in himself. Freddie’s own personal story is one of pursuing a dream, dealing with wealth and fame, looking back and having no regrets, reflecting on getting old, his legacy, and death.

As much as i love Queen band this was my first book to read about them but more about Freddie Mercury it was a brilliant book and it sounded just like him (i mean what i have seen on youtube interviews with him) . Parole e pensieri sia stato una sorpresa, perché pure nella mia refrattarietà ai dettagli biografici e dintorni, tante parole e pensieri di Freddie mi erano familiari, ma è stato bello rileggerle. Funny, irreverent, poignant and never boring, this is the closest we'll ever come to an autobiography. That being said, I really did enjoy just reading his words and thoughts brought out in such a manner. Certo, non è che se mi capita non legga articoli o guardi interviste, ma non sento la necessità impellente di sapere tutto lo scibile sull’artista X.His rise to fame in the band followed by the media coverage of his lifestyle and finally his tragic passing due to AIDS have been well documented in books, documentaries, and even the film Bohemian Rhapsody.

When it was, what questions were asked, who was interviewing, what else he was talking about in the interview, tone of voice, and gestures are all important factors to interpreting his words. I think Queen songs are pure escapism, like going to see a good film – after that, people can go away, and go back to their problems.

The additional material has been drawn from sources not available or known to the authors at the time of compiling the original work, much of it never before published before and sourced from newly discovered interviews given by Mercury for magazine and newspaper articles that were ultimately not used, as well as from rare radio programmes or Queen Specials found on precious old cassette recordings and reel-to-reel tapes discovered within the Freddie archive. La semana pasada vi el biopic Bohemiam Rhapsody (que grandes eran )a raiz de esto me informé de toda su existencia y trágica y dolorosa muerte que pena!
