Some window frames are designed to be functional and move in different ways, while others are completely stationary. What had seemed to some as too dangerous or difficult to accomplish, became my fantasy fulfilled, and my most memorable self–assigned photograph.

Demolition on the brownstones has already begun — that’s why there’s no glass in those windows — and the day after the shoot, the buildings will be razed. More than 160 prints of Ormond Gigli’s “Girls in the Window” have been sold at auctions over the years.I invited Eileen Ford Model agency to send their most famous models, known world wide, to my studio for the taking of this photograph. It places in context an iconic image of the postwar era at the height of its prosperity and on the verge of transformation. Gigli's groundbreaking portraits include Sophia Loren (at age 21), Anita Ekberg, Marcel Duchamp, John F. On the other hand by Artsper which selects its partner galleries according to the quality of their catalog and their reputation.

Throughout his career, Lichtenstein frequently drew inspiration from comic books, advertisements and other forms of mass media. He hadn’t the money to pay for professional models – or an access to a budget for a picture that had no sponsorship. The final result was a symphony of color, form, and life, beautifully encapsulated within the frames of the brownstone windows. An arched window is also known as a radius window and is loved for its dramatic effect in interior spaces. The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition.

In a 2016 feature for Artforum magazine, artist and photographer Laurie Simmons described "Girls in the Windows" as "one of my favorite fashion photos". Before most people knew how to read, the windows helped tell the stories of the Old and New Testaments and the saints. He graduated from the School of Modern Photography in 1942 and served in the Navy as a photographer during World War II. He reached out to a modeling agency that he had worked for, and asked for models to volunteer to be in his ‘dream’ picture. Some of Gigli’s favorite photographs were self-assigned, international award-winners, such as “Girls in the Windows” photographed in 1960.

Of course I was concerned for the Models’ safety, as some were daring enough to pose out on the crumbling sills. He graduated from the School of Modern Photography in 1942 and served in the Navy as a photographer during World War 2.
