NB: Riddle me this: miss people pleaser can't tell her best friend her favourite movie was twilight but can tell her client? Okay so first lets not start with the positive because pshhh that soooo boring so lets start with what I found similar to the other two books which is an overarching theme in the Ali Hazelwood Cinematic Universe. I love how much he cared about Elsie and she became a better version of herself just by being with him. Recommended to those who enjoy books in rhyme, stories about animal rescue, or reading about love and friendship.

What I can say with full and total confidence is that Jack Smith is the absolute best character she's ever written. I feel weird when the heroine reassures the hero that her last client (his brother) is so nice that she "would have [worked as his girlfriend] for free". Jack supports another candidate for the job and is shocked to find out that Elsie is not the librarian girlfriend of her brother, as he was led to believe. It’s also a metaphor for adults on having to give their own children independence when the time is right, too. It might be a bit too "sweet" for some, but I loved it and found the combination of the gentle, insightful words and the expressive (and sometimes humorous) illustrations just worked wonderfully.It starts strong with all of the hallmarks I love from Ali Hazelwood—snark, banter, science, smart female in STEM, and puns. This could be for a special occasion, like a birthday or holiday, or maybe it could be a "just because" gift! Unfortunately, he's also the man who's in charge of the physics department at MIT and one of the decision-makers who will decide if she's the right candidate for her dream job. It's bedtime for Suzy, but she's scared of monsters - and things get even more scary when Bunny disappears during the night!

The story is beyond engaging, it went in some directions I didn’t expect it to go, it had me rooting for physics debates, and I could have read another hundred pages of these two. it’s got nothing to do with money, status or anything particularly fancy - those moments where you felt deeply in your heart, that was pretty bloody sweet.
