You can’t help but have a big smile on your face when the full ensemble cast fill the width of the stage at St David’s Hall and with their legs kicking and tapping in perfect sync. Multi award-winning, multi record-breaking T he Lord of Dance - Dangerous Games, transfers to the Playhouse Theatre from the Dominion Theatre. All of the stops are pulled out in this Irish Dancing Extravaganza with dancing that is simply mesmerising. He took a genre of ethnic-pride competitions and small spaces (Irish dance lore is full of stories of dancing on doors taken down off their hinges or even on plates), and he blew it up and gave it mass appeal.

Last week Michael Flatley welcomed press to the London Palladium where his final West End show, entitled Lord Of The Dance: Dangerous Games, opens next Monday (1st September) for a limited run. It’s the kind of show that you watch with your mouth open, and then later think back on it and wonder if you really just saw what you think you saw.

With new music by composer Gerard Fahy, this ‘extraordinary and supremely stirring show’ (Daily Telegraph) combines the best of tradition with all the excitement of new music and dance. They were hand-picked and trained by Flatley himself and have starred in the West End and UK touring shows of Lord of the Dance: Dangerous Games. Choreographed and directed by Michael Flatley, 40 of the world’s most outstanding young dancers and musicians take to the stage delivering electrifying performances that bring audiences to their feet night after night. Due to unprecedented demand, Flatley is scheduled to make a special appearance from 13 to 24 March at the Dominion Theatre, paving the way for new young superstar James Keegan, who will be performing the lead role of Lord of the Dance. Synopsis: Live performance of the Irish dance and musical production created, choreographed and starring Michael Flatley.

The spectacular new staging of the traditional masterpiece will have an exclusive and limited run, featuring Michael Flatley in his final West End performances. As the first half of the show begins the audience are greeted with a projected Michael Flatley and a giant clock alluding to the opening of the show. Flatley) begins with a self-promotional video about defying naysayers to create “the biggest-selling dance show of all times. This Irish-American step-dancing star, now 57, has announced that he will retire from performing at the end of this eight-week run. The tour is one of the biggest the UK has ever had and has currently been seen by 60 million people in 60 different countries on every continent. The cast at the Playhouse Theatre will be led by James Keegan and Morgan Comer, who have both won every major title in competitive Irish Dance. I have been looking forward to watching this show for a long time and being a tap dancer myself can appreciate the hard work and effort that goes into this form of dancing. Nadine Coyle was one fifth of the pop group Girls Aloud, whose record-breaking success included over 4. Recorded at the London Palladium theatre in 2014, the show features a new musical score composed by Gerard Fahy and some of the world's most talented dancers including James Keegan, Mathew Smith and Alice Upcott. The ostensible hero, the Lord of the Dance, loses his prize belt to a cyborg-like Dark Lord and wins it back with the help of a Little Spirit, a small and irritating gymnast who looks as if she were drizzled with glue and then rolled in sequins.

The main lead Lord of the Dance was played by James Keegan and the Dark Lord was played by Zoltan Papp. They all managed to hold attention of the audience due to their frequent costume changes and the cleaver projections that portrayed Ireland as an Idyllic place filled with Unicorns and rainbows. If you’re a fan of this type of dancing and the Irish music and culture this show is without a doubt the show for you to attend next. Along the way the Spirit meets different dancers as well as a Black Swan like love triangle that threatens to turn the head of Ireland’s saviour, the Lord of the Dance himself. A blond good girl fights with a brunette seductress for the hero’s affections, but don’t expect the virgin-whore dichotomy to hold. The show’s best section and what will always be their most iconic is the ‘Lord of the Dance’, and the skill of the cast is amazing in which they gave four Encores at the end of the show of that very dance which was met with a standing ovation from the whole audience at St David’s Hall.
