The Wii version doesn't look as good, but it's more stable which makes it a lot more playable over the longrun. When a deadly symbiotic invasion devastates the streets of New York City, only Spider-Man can seize control and bring salvation to the city! After releasing either Jameson or his clone, Spider-Man defeats Rhino, who was hired to guard the lab, and escapes with the vibranium. There isn't much voice acting as most of the story will unfold in dialogue boxes with only a few voiced one-liners popping up here and there.

Neither game has a stable framerate, but the PS3 version of the game was more prone to slowdown in my experience. There are no extra motion controls for the PS3 version, but it does support rumble if you have a DualShock3 controller.GameSpot mentioned occasional technical issues with the graphics, sound, and camera, while praising the story, combat system, variety and "memorable" boss fights. So you can't resist the opportunity to swing through Manhattan one more time, but aren't sure which version of the game will give you the best experience? Aurally, the game is also quite solid; the sound effects are rock solid, the Danny Elfman score is top-notch and fits the theme well, and the voice acting is mostly fantastic.

The City That Never Sleeps - Teeming with life, the Big Apple is more alive than ever before in the Spider-Man series. The city is also quite lively and features a very solid draw-out distance, making the city look as one would expect it to and giving the game a generally impressive visual presentation as a result.Web of Shadows has also dispensed with the “Spider-Sense” mechanic from Spider-Man 3 which forced you into battles of constant dodge-fighting that were boring and drawn out, and instead focuses on allowing you to block and dodge if you want to (with satisfying results), but not outright punishing you for NOT doing so if you’re not interested. The PS2 and PSP versions are initially fun to play, offering a comfortable take on old school 2D brawling. Instead of cutscenes, the game features dialogue trees, during which the player must select Spider-Man's replies from several different options, which can make Spider-Man appear respectful, mean, or neutral. When you die you'll be able to guide red health orbs to the center of the touch screen while popping poisonous blue orbs to replenish Spider-Man's health.
