is a great year for Viking fans, as together with the Creator 3-in-1 Viking Ship, we’re getting 2 respectable longships in a year. According to the official rule book of the US Waveski Surfing Association, “Competitors must sit on top with bottom flush on seat.” Beautifully put, no? New Asgard has become a tourist attraction during Thor: Love and Thunder, seemingly toured using interesting vehicles like this one. The wonderfully-named Goat Boat looks excellent and measures 43cm in length, including the goats, which is larger than I anticipated. This dark tan colour works nicely and the presence of dark tan highlights is attractive, without overwhelming the traditional wood construction. It’s a pretty basic “vehicle” build, but doesn’t try to be more than it is, with the Viking Longship being the chief focus.The longboat is drawn through the skies by legendary goats Toothgnasher and Toothgrinder, who are raised off the ground so kids can easily push the ship along as they play. The set includes 5 minifigures – Thor, Mighty Thor, Valkyrie, Korg and Gorr – and a host of weapons and accessories, including Thor’s Stormbreaker axe. A central cabin features an opening roof for access to extra play space inside. Authentic accessories – including a boat wrench, fire extinguisher, map of New Asgard, bottle and a sunstone crystal – further inspire imaginative play. When the day’s Super-Hero adventures are over, kids can display the ship in their room. I really like the latest version as she looks so badass with her armour, and her hairpiece is a much more accurate reflection of Tessa’s on-screen character. Like any LEGO Super Heroes / Marvel set, the main highlight and drawcard of the set is the minifigures, and The Goat Boat does not disappoint at all in this department, with a perfect character lineup.
