Phone call quality has been muddled. Clarity can be muffled, the other person struggled to hear me in noisy places but when it is quiet, the Liberty 4 NC works fine. The quality here is average for a true wireless, though as the review was published, there was an update to improve call performance. I’ll try it out again and will revise the review if my opinion changes. Sound Quality If you need to use an audio and video app on the computer and you cannot set the input and output on the app, please open the computer audio settings and choose the correct settings: Make sure the Bluetooth device and earbuds are within Bluetooth range, and there is no signal interference between them. When the battery of the charging case is at 60-100%, all the lights will turn white for 5 seconds and then go out.

For starters, you can choose between adaptive active noise canceling, which will adjust to your environment, or controlling it manually. You’ll also find two versions of transparency mode (vocal and full), and in a parody of Sony’s loaded control system, even a version designed to adapt to different transportation modes like trains, planes, and various automobiles. Wind Buffering is one of my favorite extras, effectively keeping your ears from getting blown out while using transparency mode in a breeze. Within the comprehensive app, more customisation is available with a personalised function (HearID), default EQ (Soundcore Signature), Custom EQ (where you create your own) and 3D Surround Sound that opens up and widens the soundstage. I find this one reduces the impact of bass and makes music thinner. The Anker Soundcore app (available for Android and iOS) is among my favorites because of its sleek design and extensive feature set. It shows battery life readouts for each earpiece and the case at the top. Below this, the Ambient Sound section lets you switch between Noise Cancellation, Transparency, and Normal modes.

The two-setting Transparency Mode was much more useful. Full Transparency increased environmental awareness, while Vocal Mode emphasized vocals to hear and communicate clearly. I felt secure monitoring traffic and sharing conversations with the missus during strolls. Soundcore by Anker Liberty 4 NC: Verdict The low frequencies never hog proceedings. A listen to DMX’s X Gon’ Give It To Ya reflects that balance, the bass described in detailed and varied terms from the small drumbeats to the bigger, boomier beats that follow. There’s good weight and decent depth provided, though this is an area where the EarFun boasts more muscle. Use a Q-tip with a bit of rubbing alcohol to gently clean the metal mesh filter under the rubber ear tips. As mentioned, the app has many options for customizing the ANC experience, but that's not necessarily an advantage; the best implementations I've tested don't require any user intervention. For what it's worth, the Adaptive Noise Cancelling mode seems to work similarly to the Manual mode at the max level (5). The Transportation mode might be worth trialing depending on your environment, but most people should choose the Adaptive Noise Cancelling mode or the highest manual setting.

If you still can't connect using the steps above, provide the mobile phone model, app version, screenshots in Step 5, mobile phone system region, and language settings. (Search for "Region" in the mobile phone settings. If there is no region in the search, search for "Language".) When resetting the earbuds, make sure the earbuds are well connected with the charging case, or it may cause the reset to fail. When you place left and right earbuds in the charging case, there will be white LED indicators which confirms the earbuds are properly connected with the charging case. Anker should have chosen something other than “NC” in the moniker because noise cancelation on these buds is not worthy of top billing. It struggles with mid- and high frequency sounds, and the unstable fit didn’t help isolate noise either. If you need to adjust the volume, please do so on the app. If you cannot adjust the volume on the app, please select the Soundcore Liberty 4 NC Hands-Free as output on your computer and adjust the volume.Investigating the Soundcore app further, you’ll find yourself with authority over a vast array of features that easily trump most earbuds at this price.

When resetting the earbuds, make sure the earbuds are well connected with the charging case, or it may cause the reset to fail. When you place the left and right earbuds in the charging case, there will be white LED indicators which confirms the earbuds are properly connected with the charging case. The Anker Soundcore Liberty 4 NC takes on an immediately recognisable look with its stem design. The earbuds nestle in the ear, with a range of ear-tips from extra small to large to aid a comfortable fit and tight seal against outside sounds. In the midrange and treble, the Anker retrieves more detail and defines instruments and voices with more precision, making the Air Pro 3 a little dusty and dull by comparison. As I noted in my 1MORE Aero review, I’d also appreciate the option to have one of the controls toggle the spatial audio on and off, to save having to dive into the app so frequently. The control scheme is missing a touch and hold function, so that would be a neat place for the spatial audio to slot in, and I would have liked to have seen Anker make volume adjustable by sliding a finger up or down either stem, too. The app itself is simple and clear to traverse, as well as responsive. The wear sensor feature works, though I’ve noticed it doesn’t resume as often after it pauses.

Turn on absolute volume in the developer options or select "the Bluetooth device volume to sync with the phone" in the Bluetooth settings. An IPX4 rating is underwhelming, but standard for the category. Neither light rain nor sweat should cause problems, but don't place the earpieces directly under a faucet or submerge them. For the same price, the IP68-rated JBL Endurance Peak 3 earphones make a lot more sense if you frequently go out in wet conditions. Clear all the pairing records on your Mac computer and re-pair your earbuds. Turn the volume down one notch on your Mac computer. Then turn up the volume of both your Mac computer and earbuds to the maximum for the music/video. Battery life comes in at around nine hours in-ear, with the charging case pushing the total up to 28 hours. Those figures fall to seven and 24 hours with ANC enabled, or five and 15 hours with spatial audio turned on. The Liberty 4 support both wireless and fast charging, with the latter providing up to three hours of listening from 15 minutes on charge.Try testing your earbuds with a different Bluetooth device in a different environment to see if there is any difference. Regarding this issue, if the audio source doesn't have much bass, the earbuds will have poor bass. To confirm the problem, please try the following troubleshooting: When the charging case is fully charged, all the white lights will stay on for 5 minutes and then go out.
