The drydown is clearly the highlight for me. The earthy, peppery oud mix becomes sweeter, softer and almost cuddles. I could swear that from the time I actually also perceive a hint of mint. But could also be that the remnants of lemon mixed with the jasmine and the sweetness of the vanilla somehow make it seem like you're detecting mint here.... ? I honestly don't know, but most people seem to be sure that there is no mint in it and I don't want to contradict them.

The perfume does lean towards the masculine side but its universally appealing notes make it wearable for women too. The longevity is impressive, ensuring the scent stays with you throughout the day. The sillage is robust, making the perfume noticeable without being overpowering.

Women

The beginning is citrusy, spicy and very slightly "musty" for me. Since this is my first oud fragrance, I assume that it is due to this. Since I actually already thought that this can not be for me, but time has taught me better. The "musty" fades with time, as does most of the lemon, and you're left with an earthy, soft, peppery mix that still has something fresh about it. Patchouli, oud, vetiver and leather make the comrade seem quite masculine, which is why I'm a little surprised that this is supposed to be a unisex scent. I don't think I would like it on a woman, but of course tastes differ on that and everyone can wear what they like. Are you a Fraghead? Considering everything, the synthetic nature of the composition, higher designer-level quality, and the effort to produce something like this, it sits somewhere in between being a great fragrance to sample, and a fair warning that you might have previously smelled something like this before in the Guerlain Ideal line. This doesn’t mean it is a weak scent at all but is something to be considered if you want a strong-performing perfume.

Look, this is an underrated Mancera cologne. The opening of this cologne is a bit strong because of the spicy notes such as Nutmeg, cinnamon, incense, and oud. As someone who has a lot of experience with Mancera in general, the hype and high expectations were justified from my side. Characteristic of the creations of both brands are the descriptive names, meaning that the name of the fragrance anticipates which ingredients should dominate the course of the fragrance. As already mentioned above, I cannot always agree with this naming, also in the case of Aoud Lemon Mint. Cool, marketing-optimised fragrance names such as "Viking", "Egoiste" or "Layton" are not to be found at Montale. Many of the fragrances are also categorized as unisex, including the one discussed here. During my time with this scent which stands as one of the most hyped Mancera fragrances, I found it to be a versatile companion during the casual colder months. But, there are some fruity notes in there too, like green apple and white pear. And they help tone down the intensity.
