NEW! Fright Night 35th Anniversary Script Read (1080i, 2:37:01): A virtual script read with the cast and some surprise guests.

Sony's matte SteelBook features classic artwork that was also used for the previous Blu-ray release. The rear panel depicts a howling Jerry. All What is Fright Night featurette, a 2016 video piece featuring cast and crew interviews (BLU-RAY ONLY) relationship with girlfriend Amy (Amanda Bearse). Charlie, in a moment out of Rear Window, finds reason to suspect that his new next door neighbor, NEW: Deleted Scene Storyboards – Tom Holland guides us through the film’s only deleted scene, using his personal pre-production storyboards Audio Commentary: Writer/Director Tom Holland and Actors Chris Sarandon & Jonathan Stark. Moderated by Filmmaker Tim Sullivan.rendered and faithfully reproduced with an organic texture that yields a fresh-from-theaters filmic appearance. The result is an extraordinarily sharp And what a production, from pitch perfect casting to the Brad Fiedel 80s synth score to the make up effects, it’s all top shelf stuff. Ragsdale is such a likeable young lead, an everyman who navigates great stresses naturally and easily gains your empathy. Bearse and Jeffries also deliver great memorable performances in parts that could have easily fallen flat in the wrong hands. Sarandon is an epic vampire: seductive, menacing and also damn likeable. The stand out for this reviewer was Roddy McDowell, who turns in a perfect rendition of a washed up Vincent Price type who’s selfish hand is forced into becoming a hero. It’s beautiful to watch every time. While this isn't the first SteelBook release out there to use the classic poster art, I do have to tip my hat to Sony and also Paramount of late for their recent SteelBook releases using the classic vintage poster art instead of some Pop Art monstrosity or custom art that kinda looks nice but really isn't all that amazing. I've looked at that cover art image ever since I was a little kid at our Mom & Pop rental shop in Dexter, MI and it always terrified me and excited me. By the time I was old enough to slip it past my Mom, I was all up for it and it's remained a favorite ever since. You're So Cool, Brewster! A new two-hour version of the definitive 2016 documentary on the making of Fright Night, focusing on the first film, created exclusively for this release RLJ Entertainment has revealed their August slate, which is set to include Harry Wild: Series 1 (DVD), Ride with Norman Reedus: Season 3 (DVD), Ride with Norman Reedus: Season 4 (DVD), Cow (Blu-ray and DVD) and White Elephant (Blu-ray and DVD) on 8/2, followed by One Land Bridge: Series 2 (DVD) and Nitram (Blu-ray and DVD) on 8/9, Firebite: Season 1 (Blu-ray and DVD), Hidden Assets: Series 1 (DVD), Night’s End (DVD), and Paris, 13th District (Blu-ray and DVD) on 8/16, Too Close: Season 1 (DVD) and Murder at Yellowstone City (Blu-ray and DVD) on 8/23, and 61st Street: Season 1 (Blu-ray and DVD) and Signora Volpe: Series 1 (DVD) on 8/30.

Included in the extras is a two-and-a-half-hour-long script read (which was filmed as part of a fundraiser) with the original cast (and guest stars, including Mark Hamillas Peter Vincent). What I appreciated about this segment is the fact that Tom Holland introduces the reading and he seems like a kid in a candy store. His face lights up when he talks about Fright Night, with a bust of Amy’s head in hand and props staged around him. The director takes great care to communicate with the severed heads, skeletons, and the like to be sure we know what each of them is thinking. That melted my heart and gave me, yet another reason to love Holland. For this UHD edition, Sony has rolled out an awesome collection of new and legacy bonus features, all of which are spread across the two accompanying Blu-ray discs. NEW: The Queer Lens: Bryan Fuller in Conversation with Amanda Bearse – a candid discussion between Fright Night aficionado Bryan Fuller (Hannibal, Queer for Fear: The History of Queer Horror ) and Fright Night star Amanda Bearse about the Gothic’s queer roots, the film’s queer subtext, and its metaphorical power ton of content, including all of the returning extras from the 2019 Blu-ray in addition to a large amount of new material. There's so much here that Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has set the DC Universe animated title Batman and Superman: Battle of the Super Sons for 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray release on 10/18.
