My very favourite part about the series is that the female lead has not been shown as a troubled damsel of any sorts, neither has she been forcibly empowered. She is a hard-worker and good at her job. And she lives her life as she wants without much concern for judgement of others. Thoughts like these should not. EVER. be read by women that are already insecure about themselves. I have a whole bunch of friends I know that constantly pull themselves down because they are worried about what other people think. This is not okay. )

So even if it's not my favorite Tijan (Fallen Crest and Kian are my fav so far) I had a fantastic time reading it and if you're a fan you'll be very happy with what's been delivered. Hazelwood also relied on similarities in features of both the guys, big and burly in all aspects, the ladies are tiny and waif-like. Probably not reality but okay.Beautiful and badass Kennedy Clarke was burned in the past but is ready for a fresh start in college, hoping to learn from her high school mistakes and avoid all the hot boys and all the drama. Sarcastic, smart, and sassy, Kennedy is my spirit animal. She marches to the beat of her own drum and is a leader rather than a follower. I ADORED and ADMIRED this heroine so much! Push/Pull: Yes The h pushes away verbally and emotionally a good bit. They both pursue at times, but I'd say the H is the main pursuer of the relationship. What I did enjoy was the steam factor. Hazelwood is great at upping the heat level and the build-up. Plus she excels at the uniqueness of the stories. While characterization might be a bit similar, the actual stories are quite different and I loved that.
