About this deal

On paper, the Oral-B 7000’s advanced motor feature sounds great. However, I experienced some issues that other reviewers had as well.

I used the Oral-B 7000 in Daily Clean and Deep Clean modes. Both work well to lift stains and leave my teeth feeling smooth. Lasting up to 16 days or 66 minutes in our testing, that is an extra 4 days or 16 minutes of usage time. Smart 6 6000 vs Genius 9000Because the Smart 7 has smart features, which are not essential, this increases the number of components required and in turn impacts the amount of waste when the brush no longer works. While the classic Oral-B brushes don’t offer as much in terms of innovative features, almost all will offer a timer and (more basic) pressure sensor, more brushing modes and some even offer smart features. You may also find that you’ll now be able to buy these brushes for less than their launch price, especially during sales periods. The Genius X is still an excellent brush and the Pro 3/ Pro 1000 (its US name) is great value. The final in box addition is the travel case. Fairly basic it is made of plastic and is relatively thin. The positive tag might be touching the PCB, but there is no electrical hazard as the negative tag is not connected to the PCB.

The Smart Guide stores up to 6 months of personal brushing data. It features an LCD screen that shows information on your brushing session. So when the red light shines, you know to reduce the pressure you are applying and can avoid doing too much damage. First, the charging time for this toothbrush takes about 24 hours to reach full battery, as shown in the attached photo. However, once it’s fully charged, the toothbrush can last for up to a month without needing to be charged again. With only a couple of slight differences between these two models, the Pro 3 3000 is the more premium and expensive of the two. But it doesn’t make it the one to go for. In terms of smart features, you’ll get all sorts of customisation options, as well as a real-time guided brushing mode, which will help you to get a better, deeper clean and ensure you’re not neglecting any spots. With the Oral-B app, you can set timers and reminders for flossing, tongue cleaning, and rinsing, ensuring that you give each aspect of your oral care the attention it deserves. You can even customize your brushing routine by setting extra time for certain areas of your mouth, allowing for a more targeted cleaning experience. What do we mean? Well in the box comes a smartphone holder with the Genius 9000. It has a suction cup on it that needs to attach to a mirror or wall in your bathroom. You put your smartphone in before brushing, stand in front of it and the app, camera, and brush work together to give you this data. With multiple modes and settings, the Oral-B Genius 7000 offers versatility and customization. There are six cleaning modes, including daily clean, deep clean, whitening, sensitive, gum care, and tongue cleaning, allowing users to choose the mode that best suits their oral health needs. The toothbrush also features a pressure sensor that alerts users when they are applying too much pressure, preventing damage to gums and teeth.

The iO4 has a great brushing performance, a vibration timer, pressure sensor and four brushing modes. Like all iOs that don’t have a screen, it’ll cycle through all the light ring colours in a congratulatory rainbow-hued light show when you brush for two minutes.

If you want to be able to charge the brush in the case, look at the Genius AI which has the ultimate in smart travel cases. You have a dedicated cleaning mode button too. Press this to change cleaning modes on the 9000. With the 5000 you have to press the power button multiple times.
