About this deal

The optimal pH of saliva is 6.5 to 7.0. A reading lower than 6.5 means you have insufficient alkaline reserves. After meals, the saliva should rise to 7.8 or even higher. If there is no increase, it implies that the body has a deficiency in alkaline minerals, particularly calcium and magnesium. If your saliva pH deviates from the ideal range for an extended period of time, this will likely lead to illness. Conducting a Urinary pH Test: Sometimes, the readings are influenced by other substances in the urine or saliva, such as medicine, neutral salt, protein, colloid, alkaloid, organic solvent (like alcohol). In this case, it is better to use the reading of the top pad only (the one furthest away from the handle). The upper pad is more stable at performance than the lower pad. Because the reagent (the stuff that changes colour) is affixed to a plastic strip, there’s no paper, no bleeding, and no mess. In fact, AlkaWay Diagnostic pH Test Strips are the only pH test strips on the market that can pass through a urine stream without having the reagent bleed, making them exceptionally easy to read.

There are a variety of litmus paper-type pH strips available. They differ by sensitivity and what range of pH they are designed for. The more sensitive the pH strip, the smaller the range in which it works. Depending on what range you want and how sensitive you need the strip to be, you adjust your indicators. Thanks to the kidneys, the body is constantly trying to get rid of excess acids through the urine, which can range in pH anywhere from 4.5 to 8.5. The pH of your urine is a good reflection of the pH of your internal environment. If your urine tests high in acids (below 6.75), then you know your body is high in acids too (Not good!). If your urine tests low in acids (above 6.75), then your stores of alkaline minerals are doing a good job of buffering the acids in your body (Awesome!).

Why can there be fluctuations in the readings?

Now that you know what are pH strips and how they work, it is time to know how to use them! How To Use pH Strips?

One of the simplest changes with the biggest effect is to ensure that you drink 2-3 litres of alkaline water every day. Alkaline water has a higher pH and is enriched with minerals to give you an increased sense of well-being and allowing a natural health improvement. The pH of water can easily by increased by using pH drops. Wang RH. From reflux esophagitis to Barrett's esophagus and esophageal adenocarcinoma. World J Gastroenterol. 2015;21(17):5210-9. doi:10.3748/wjg.v21.i17.5210Our pH Test Strips are ideally suited to the measurement of your body's internal pH balance. They are designed to be used with either urine or saliva as follows: Conducting a Saliva pH Test:

Your urine pH is an indication of how well your body is working to maintain the proper pH of your blood. By taking urine samples you can get a fairly accurate picture of your body pH, as our kidneys filter out the buffer salts of pH regulation. Your pH Test Strips can give an estimate as to blood pH based on what your body is eliminating.SALIVA: Wait 2 hours after eating & drinking or brushing teeth. Do not rinse your mouth. Spit saliva into a spoon, dip the SimplexHealth pH strip into the fluid for about 3 seconds until both pads on the test strip are sufficiently covered with liquid; wait 15 seconds before reading your pH. Discard the used pH test strip. Please note, that non-bubble saliva is best.

Now you can test your pH using pH test Strips — easily, accurately, and within the comfort of your own home! Fortunately, AlkaWay Diagnostic pH Test Strips provide an easy, accurate, and affordable way to find out exactly where you stand. Your urine and saliva hold the key to your health Litmus paper (you know, the kind that comes in a roll) won’t give you a truly accurate pH reading because it bleeds when it gets wet, which makes it quite a challenge to determine the colour. Better alternatives exist, but they’re not separated into small 0.25 unit increments, which leave you guessing as to what your actual pH reading is.

This helps remove any acidic bacteria that might be lurking. Do not rinse your mouth with anything else as you will simply record the pH of the water/liquid you have just used. Some people even test as low as 4.5 – 5.75, which is not where you want your pH to be. In fact, if your pH tests that low, we recommend you take immediate action to correct this acidity. Remember, because the pH scale works like the Richter scale – i.e. logarithmically – a pH of 5.0 is 100 times too acidic! Regular litmus paper pH strips are made of litmus paper with which you can measure the hydrogen ion concentration of a liquid. The substance causes the strips to show a different colour at different acidities. They have a single pad indicator that uses one square combining two different pH reagents. The first reagent is more sensitive to higher pH ranges (6.75 – 9.0) and the second reagent is more sensitive to lower pH ranges (4.5 – 7.25). This combination gives you an ideal reading of your pH level.
