Cullen, who pointed out that “[Rambo’s] an ex-convict...not the kind of guy we want for our poster boy.” When the Rambo films got darker after Trautmann’s death, Rambo’s creators considered recasting the part with James Brolin, but Stallone insisted that the character died with Crenna in 2003. Since then, Rambo’s stopped railing against and reluctantly saving the military from its own botched planning: now he rescues hapless (but “noble,” to quote a pure-hearted mercenary from Rambo) civilians, especially women, like Last Blood’s Gabrielle and Rambo’s unarmed missionary Sarah (Julie Benz). Sarah lives, but both Gabrielle and Co (a spy working for the US) die. Before Gabrielle dies, she sheds a tear for the family she lost by not listening to surrogate dad Rambo; when Co dies, Rambo cries for a romance that he missed out on (Rambo cries in Cameron’s First Blood: Part II draft, but while that scene was filmed, it didn’t make the final cut after Stallone noticed some test screening audience members laughing at Rambo’s tears). The large bomb found in the jungle is not a Tallboy as previously suggested, but a "Grand Slam", the successor to the Tallboy bomb. The key indicator is the overall size of the larger 22,000 pound bomb, and the aerofoil shape of the stabilizing fins, versus the relatively flat fins of the tallboy.

There actually was a small story with a decent message about making your life stand for something. "Rambo Gets A Conscience" could be another title to this movie. It's a story so simple that it works, bound on a flawed character that is honestly excellently portrayed through Stallone. First Blood may not be the best action film out there, but it does manage to be an interesting delve into the mind of PTSD veterans from the war. I truly enjoyed this film simply because the character of John Rambo is so well written. A Green Beret Vietnam War vet struggles to find his place in society with no home, no friends, and constant animosity from others around him. It's an incredibly psychological film no doubt, but it also manages to be quite an entertaining and fascinating action film, as we see the character of Rambo progress steadily downwards throughout the film. Many may just take it as a cool film where Stallone is a beast and shoots up a whole town single handedly, and yeah that can be a fun idea at times, but I love the deeper meaning behind this film and how self aware about mental health it was even nearly 40 years ago- as well as focusing on the many injustices in the police system and how many of their actions were and still are incredibly disgusting. There are a few moments where the film jumps around in confusion, but in the end, First Blood is a highly entertaining and fascinating film that easily produces one of the most iconic characters in cinema to an breathtaking degree of accuracy and poignancy. However, if you are the least bit squeamish about bloody violence, you better skip this movie. If you enjoy a good action movie and don't care if it gets a little gross in spots, this is your cup of tea......in spades. If you have any hostility in you, after 80 minutes of watching this, it should be gone. A poster with bright colour and crisp overall appearance. It may have very general signs of use including slight fold separation and fold wear. It may have pin holes or very minor tears. This is the highest grade allowed for a poster that has been restored either on linen or on paper.
