About this deal

Allowing Silver Rain to settle, I was once again surprised to find a more complex blend in the heart. It just keeps getting better. A sweet floral blend, made up of rose, jasmine and magnolia, tends to smooth out the fruitiness while still keeping things bold and fun. The Silver Rain collection includes numerous limited editions of this perfume: Silver Rain Shimmer Mist (2006), Silver Rain Brilliance, Silver Rain Cachette FINALLY ! i got today my miniature of Silver Rain (5 Euro for 2ml !!!) and this was a very good deal for it, usualy it's more expensive though. I would wear Midnight Rain exclusively as a night-time fragrance on a mild Summer's night. Paired with some sexy attire and a pair of heels, this fragrance has some serious potential. It's quite a seductive fragrance, especially towards the base where it begins to smell sweet and creamy. I remembered it more beautiful, or maybe my nose has changed. It is no doubt a rich scent that reminds of rain, warm soil and something sweet coming through. However I received a decant and it reminded me of some sweet Axe deodorant that became so popular in the early 00s, I guess the deo could have been influenced by perfume launches like Midnight Rain. So I am partly sad that a memory has been ruined (or only turned?) and at the same time relieved to have one discontinued item less on the want shelf.

Vetiver is the 11th fragrance note in La Prairie Life Threads Silver. Chrysopogon zizanioides, commonly known as vetiver and khus, is a perennial bunchgrass of the family Poaceae. Scent very rich, greatly rounded, I get mostly combination of fruity notes and flowers with patchouli as undernote wich makes it more stable. Wow, this is beautiful! I never tried Forbidden Euphoria, but Midnight Rain is everything I wanted Euphoria to be. It's a similar kind of scent, just much better in every aspect: Less harsh, more creamy, better use of fruity notes, more rounded. But enough with the comparisons, Midnight Rain can stand on its own!I find Silver Rain quite a fascinating fragrance. It's not what I had expected, and for that, I'm glad. the juice in the cute little dropshaped silver bottle is pure bliss! i expected something very different, not that smooth and innocent. don t get me wrong, the scent is strong and intense, not weak but soft and dreamy. kinda adictive. the heart opens with a bold rose in full bloom, followed by sugar coted petals of powdery jasmin, creamy magnolia and at least a bite of ripe plum. on this stage i can really smell the different aromas, heavenly blendet to a very delightful creamy-sweet aroma. As it dries down, it becomes even warmer and also wonderfully creamy. The patchouli is joined by plummy blossoms, a very feminine and soft musk and the cashmere wood, a note I never gave much thought to, but it really does wonders here.

Midnight rain should be haunting, mysterious, darker, a bit moody. Where's the incense and the dirty patchouli? Where's the leather and the ebony wood? WHERE is the midnight? Hell, where's the rain?? I'm starting to believe that I'm a bit of a fan of guava in perfume. Every guava dominant fragrance I've tried has been a success. In Midnight Rain, this is no different. In this composition it lends a sweet, tropical and smooth aroma. What I love most about Midnight Rain is that these fruit notes are not overly sweet nor too juicy. They work perfectly alongside the floral heart and earthy drydown. I will get a lot of pleasure out of this bottle and I'm looking forward to dark autumn nights smelling this good. It's a perfect match! Try it for yourselves if you get a chance.

Absolutely useless trying this scent on the fly, from the cap, etc., that’s how I passed by silver and colored bottles for years (the SA said they all smell the same). Even wearing Silver rain for an hour made no big sense for me at first: light feminine vanilla with a non-fluffy/ non-yummy facet, there seemed nothing really remarkable about it except its longevity maybe.

Two words perfectly describe Midnight Rain: Exotic and mysterious. It could be worn in summer nights, or on grey winter days when you need something warm and cozy that makes you think of summer nights. The mixture of alluring fruits, creamy warmth and woody notes make this special and versatile.

Perfume Occasion Review 3/3

My mother always told me "If you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all" but I have always held with Dorothy Parker: "If you don't have anything nice to say, come sit by me..." this juice can't be oversprayed, it hasn't anything sharp or overbaring in it. it's just pure intense bliss for the senses. i can imagine spraying myself over and over with this and i would feel like a goddess in paradise, sitting inbetween ripe fruits and berries and juices, smelling their intense aroma, inhaling a deep breath of woods and mosses to my nostrils, while delicate flowers are spriding intense trails of their pollen everywhere and the creamy odor of their petals hangs around in the air like clouds of sweet dreams. Long after buying it I took a trip to Mexico's Riviera Maya and I was fascinated to smell a similar impression one summer night in the gardens after a passing storm - Midnight Rain indeed lives up to its name. And personally, I enjoy the bottle! It's fun. This isn't a laced-up, proper, demure scent, but it's equally well-suited to dancing in a springtime shower or curling up by the tree at Christmastime. Midnight Rain is freedom and chaos and joy and beauty and nature. It is water and fire, wind and earth.

I'm not very familiar of guava note in perfumes, but upon spraying, La Prairie Silver Rain strongly reminds me of a drink with guava flavour that I had tried before. It's a pungent, intense fruity smell mixed with a heavy dose of sugar. I'm fully aware that guava is a note listed in La Prairie Midnight Rain, but the sample I got was an offical one for Silver Rain. Unless it got mixed up by La Prairie themselves, I guess that's it then. :) Vetiver is most closely related to Sorghum but shares many morphological characteristics with other fragrant grasses, such as lemongrass,...Vetiver smells dry, earthy, woody, leathery and smoky. Think of uncut grass on a warm day and you'll have a rough idea of what vetiver smells like. Vetiver is considered to be a more masculine fragrance, and is used in candles, colognes and other scented products marketed to men. La Prairie Life Threads Silver Perfumers (Creator) This fragrance makes me think of a tropical garden after an evening rain. In fact, Midnight Rain evokes the memory of a childhood visit to southeast Asia. Fruity top notes and an earthy base combine to form a rich, lush scent that's sultry, yet light. MR isn't more expensive than fragraces from D&G or Chanel, so I don't mind the pricetag for a frag of this quality. The longevity is about 4-6 hours on me, or even longer but after that it's more of a soft, sweet skinscent (same as other high end frags). After about 4-5 hours I feel like I want to refresh, to make it stronger.I find that it's hard to write a review of the fragrances I really like. Midnight Rain is one of them. There are also FLORALs. A great big armful of vanilla orchids. The orchids are very dry and rather dusty to my nose. They are as tenacious as the guava. Neither is willing to retreat, both leading the olfactory charge. Again, it is fortunate I find orchid equally appealing, BUT not enough to be smothered in them. There is FRUIT. Quite a bit of it, actually. Apparently it's raining guava and it's a downpour! Guava is heavy throughout the entire life of this fragrance. You must love the note to even begin to tolerate this composition. Fortunately I find guava appealing, BUT not enough to be drenched in it.
