A consequence of this, however, was that there wasn’t much new for her to learn that day. So focusing on the lecture wasn’t exactly easy. It was a typical night of babysitting the Davis boys, aged 9 & 7 (I was 14 at the time, just before I began my writing venture), and for this one night, the eldest one, Charlie, wanted to do something different. I thought, why not, as our typical evening of watching the Disney Channel or playing their Playstation games (which I stink at playing) was getting a little too routine. Okay, okay. Fine. I’ll play,” Linda said as our end of the bargain was far easier to scorn. We untied the scarf that linked her ankles and wrists and directed her to get her hands to her front. Her flexibility was unmatched to Lily’s, but she manages eventually, and we handed her a controller. “Eh, guys, my blindfold?”

At that point, we had no idea how gags worked, and how dry her mouth must have been. The tiny size of her drink had not been on purpose. As we progressed, Linda watched us and took notice. She was still, in name, our babysitter and had nothing better to do except for twisting her head the other way to the gray textile. Somehow, Rowan won everything, and Hazel losing big time was more entertaining, though her eyes moved to our treats and our drinks too. Merica stopped the car at the side of what seemed like a random house. It was actually a house on the last street of the housing development. On the right hand side of the street were houses, but on the left were empty lots. Behind the lots was a long forest-like park. It really didn’t work well as either of those things. I had no proper foot path to be an effective park, and it was too small and isolated from the real forest to be considered part of it. The residents of this area like it as it separated them from the more urban area on the other side of it.

When she got there, the door was open. There was no sign of the staff at all. Just as she had hoped, they were all outside. So she went inside. The office felt less open than the halls, which was a small blessing. Although what Anna would have really liked was her gym uniform. The coda to this story is that six years later, I ran into Charlie unexpectedly at the local supermarket and we were reminiscing briefly. He apologized about the whole “incident” since he never really told me that before. I accepted it, and even said to him that I was using that game of his as an idea for a story I was planning to write (it became the basis for Lila’s “Perils in Babysitting” story).

The woman pleaded one last time and the officer told her that she was not going to ask her again to comply. She had to keep her pace slow, as much as she wanted to run. Running would mean that skirt would flutter all over the place. So Anna continued her path, thinking about how her lower half was at risk. For a moment, she couldn’t find a voice, but eventually she managed to speak. “It… it was an accident, I…” She was so nervous she wasn’t even sure how to explain this.Oh, Yasmin lost a bet this afternoon. I got to tie her up for an hour. Half remained,” Hazel said casually. The naked, wet woman listened for the footsteps and listed for the door to open and shut. Anna assumed she was alone.
