It also emerged in the prosecution case that Reynolds - who appears to have been particularly taken with red-haired women - had written a “script” in which he detailed trapping and killing a victim, adding that much of that script had echoed the manner in which he had killed Miss Williams. Overall, this book is very emotionally charged (as well it should be) and written from the family's perspective on how devastating a murder is to those who remain.

I appreciated the authors insights into what she was feeling, how her family was handling things, etc. To lie, deceive and place the blame on everyone but themselves. This naturally just made them look even worse. This was a case that took over the British headlines at the time due to its detail and severity and the fact that even when your father is a high-ranking member of the police force, and you are murdered, his employers are not immune or averse to lying to you, either. i can’t ever put myself in the shoes of georgia’s family and all i can say is that i admire the strength they bring to the fight for justice for their daughter.

Who was Georgia Williams?

Reynolds, 23, of Wellington, Shropshire, has admitted murdering the teenager. The sentencing judge, Mr Justice Wilkie, has indicated he may consider a full-life term for the killer, which would mean he would never be released. In 2011, he was again reported, this time after reversing his car into that of a girl who had spurned his amorous advances. To have them turn around and say, ‘We didn’t do enough to protect your daughter’ totally vindicated what we’d been saying,” says Lynnette.

I am in no doubt the seriousness of your offending, so a whole-of-life term is the starting point.” Two years later when he rammed a colleague’s car after she spurned his advances, police wrote it up as a traffic accident. Our Georgia is a devastating accounting of the horrible aftereffects of what happens when a family member is murdered. It is a very powerful moving memoir from Lynn and Steve about what an amazing daughter Georgia was her love for life and for all the people around her. The sheer determination this family has shown is amazing, especially, how after a murder this brought the family the powerful strength for the quest for justice. They did not falter in their fight to try and change the future of policing, for future families that become victims of crime. I think after reading this book that Renolds was a chillingly disturb young man whom I think nothing, or nobody could get through to. Plus, it is very important not to forget that there is a family suffering for the rest of their lives due to his actions.Since the investigation, a number of key changes have been made to the way that officers handle future cases like this. There were two reports including an inquiry held by Devon and Cornwall Police. The prosecutor said: “Photo 12 displays the correct time - 8.20pm. Her face still does not depict any sign of alarm and that is in fact the last photo of her alive.” I even imagined him maybe getting married and starting a family of his own – it was torture he’d deprived Georgia of all those milestones.” He went on: “You intended to continue to derive sexual pleasure by photographing these events, keeping them with you, and secreting her clothing and jewellery.”

that being said, certainly georgia’s family deserves to tell her story. this book was written by georgia’s mother, who offers a unique perspective into the aftermath of losing a child in such a gruesome way. i think this is very important because people who explore true crime tend to forget that at the end of the day, there is a family suffering for the rest of their lives. The same force, Steve and Lynnette discovered, had had Reynolds in its sights for years before Georgia's murder, but let him slip their net. The only part I didn't like was the way that the mother thought that the killer did everything to spite her. I understand about the cell phone, but the court proceedings or the appeal was NOT to spite her and her family. Or to even extend their pain, it was the killers selfish reasons to exploit the court system.

Who is Jamie Reynolds?

Reynolds, who had worked in a shop, was sentenced in December 2013 when he became the 46th person to be handed a whole-life term and one of the youngest in history. The book details the aftermath of her murder and probes West Mercia Police's failings to stop Reynolds in the years before he killed Georgia and how he was able to infiltrate their daughter’s life and allowed him to kill. She added: "I watch the news and can see these issues are still relevant now. Police forces apologising for mistakes and saying 'lessons will be learned' - but the problem is, they aren't.

Reynolds then posed her body, both partly clothed and naked, in different parts of the house including on his parents' bed, also carrying out sordid sex acts. Through Steve's inside knowledge of the police, the couple was able to uncover the multitude of failures that allowed Reynolds to infiltrate the life of their daughter and kill her. In May, Miss Williams accepted Reynolds' invitation to take part in a photo-shoot at his parents' house while they were holidaying in Italy. Sadistic Reynolds strangled the A-level student, took photos as he abused her body and then dumped her naked corpse in woodland. And now Georgia's mum Lynnette has chronicled their loss in her book, Our Georgia. Our Georgia, by Lynnette Williams with Robin Eveleigh, is a book powerful about a murder and the devastation it caused a family, as well as a call to action for police reform, both at their local department and in general. That said, there are things about the writing and analysis that kept it from being as good as it could have been for me.Then you watch TV and some child’s been killed because a social worker didn’t do their job, or the Met police don’t deal with one of their own properly and he goes on to kill, and it makes you so angry.”
