About this deal

Megatron is a Decepticon, one of the lineal descendants of the military hardware robots created by the Quintessons on their factory world of Cybertron. In a conflict between two robotic factions, the Decepticons and the Autobots, the Autobots' invention of transformation gave them an advantage, leading to their victory. The ensuing Golden Age of Cybertron was disrupted by the rise of Megatron, who led the Decepticons against the Autobots. Megatron's eventual defeat resulted in his rebirth as Galvatron through an alliance with the cosmic entity Unicron. Galvatron aimed to destroy the Autobot Matrix of Leadership, but his plans were thwarted, and he was thrown into space. Megatron is the founder of the Decepticon uprising and their most feared leader. Bob Budiansky, the writer for the Marvel Comics series, stated that originally Hasbro took issue with the name, saying it sounded too frightening. Budiansky responded that as the lead villain, that was the point. Hasbro later agreed with his reasoning, and approved the name "Megatron". [6] Budiansky has said in interviews that it is a portmanteau of electronic and megaton. [7] [8]

Combat Pragmatist: While nobody in the series is exactly the fairest of fighters, he's a particularly brutal one. Hey, it's not like gladiators fight fair if they wanna win. During season three, it is clear he finally has reason to fear a potential coup, this time from Predaking. He takes drastic measures to wipe out the cloned Predacons, and does his best to assert his dominance over him by requesting him to face him as a beast, not in his robot mode. When Predaking finally turns on him after learning the truth behind the Predacon massacre, Megatron is clearly spooked and is doing his best to steel himself for the coming battle he knows he may lose. Semi-Immortality: The Fallen has Semi-Immortality, thus he can't age but can still be vulnerable to wounds.According to Alpha Trion, Megatronus Prime was the second born Cybertronian. He was extremely powerful, ambitious and dangerously intelligent. He commissioned Solus Prime to craft him the Requiem Blaster to fight Unicron and at some point after Unicron's defeat he began using Dark Energon. In a moment of rage he murdered Solus but escaped Cybertron before his brothers could subdue him. After he fled he became known as "The Fallen". According to Nexus Prime, Megatron was very similar in all respects to his ancestor. Alpha Trion did not know if Megatronus still lived but he hoped he did not.

Power Glows: After injecting himself with Dark Energon, his joints and eyes glow with purple energy whenever he's actively using it. Eviler than Thou: To Starscream; once he comes out of his Convenient Coma halfway through Season 1, it becomes very clear as to why he's the one who leads the Decepticons. Spear Mastery: Megatronus was skilled with his Spear-like weapon. He used it in his fight against Optimus Prime, Bumblebee and his team. Spark Fuser(formerly) : Megatronus used this staff-like device to draw the remnants of Unicron's anti-spark from the Earth's core and almost merge it with the AllSpark but it was destroyed by Optimus Prime's Prime Decepticon Hunter in the form of sword and thanks to this Earth and Cybertron were never destroyed as Megatronus planed. In each season, rumors suggested the Fallen would appear. The plots associated with all these rumors were true only different characters were involved instead of the Fallen.

Alchemist Prime

To marry the visual appearance of Megatron's pre-Beast form seen in the first episode of the Beast Wars animated series (indeed, Megatron was the only character whose entire body was depicted, albeit briefly, prior to reformatting into a beast mode) with the toy of the character available exclusively at the convention, the story notes that Megatron adopts a detachable suit of armor that transforms into a missile tank, similar to a Pretender Shell or Ultra Magnus's outer armor in Dreamwave's series. The tank is his toy; the profile is given for the character in the widespread release of the comic notes that his original body transforms into a hover tank. Notably, Timelines presents a slightly different version of the disk's theft to the story presented in Dreamwave comics. In Timelines, Megatron seems to already be known to other characters by that name, whereas in Dreamwave's story, he only takes the name after taking possession of the disk. Whether the two are reconcilable is unknown. Large and in Charge: Much like previous incarnations, he's one of the most noticeably huge individual Transformers and still just a bit larger than Optimus Prime, at least until Optimus' upgrade in season 3 evened thing out. Also, Predaking is larger than both him and Optimus. His possession by Unicron in Predacons Rising grants him an even larger and more physically imposing body. Names to Run Away from Really Fast: He took the name of the Cybertronian equivalent to the Anti-Christ. Megatron is a fictional character and the main antagonist of the Transformers media franchise produced by American toy company Hasbro and Japanese toy company Takara Tomy. Megatron is the cruel and tyrannical leader of the Decepticons, a faction of sentient, war-mongering robotic lifeforms that seeks to conquer their home planet of Cybertron and the rest of the known universe. He serves as the archenemy of Optimus Prime, the leader of the rival Autobot faction. As with all Cybertronians, Megatron has the ability to transform between his robot form and various vehicles or weapons. His alternate modes have ranged from a Walther P38 handgun, a particle-beam weapon, a telescopic laser cannon, and a Cybertronian jet, depending on which continuity he is depicted in. Ask Vector Prime" would also feature another alternate Armada Megatron, this one has become Galvatron, who attempted to form an alliance with Megazarak when that Decepticon arrived in his universe. However, after briefly working together and defeating the Autobots and Rodimus's Omnicons, Galvatron and his Decepticons were set upon by Megazarak and his Destructicons and destroyed.

Wreathed in Flames: When using Dark Energon, he approaches this look, but he really goes into it when Unicron takes control of him (probably a reference to the original Megatronus Prime, AKA The Fallen). Heel Realization: During Predacon Rising, he's placed through severe torture and oppression by Unicron. This causes him to realize the error of his ways and abandon the idea of taking over Cybertron once and for all.

Onyx Prime

He also feels that he's the only one worthy of conquering the Earth, as shown in "One Shall Rise", where after Unicron rejects his offer of an alliance, he allies with the Autobots to defeat him. His arc plays out very similarly to Beast Wars Megatron in particular: He first joins forces with Optimus against a greater danger; then takes advantage of his Heroic Sacrifice; then when Optimus gains an upgrade by obtaining a sacred object, Megatron replicates the effect through unholy means; finally he is betrayed by an honorable second-in-command. Master Combatant: He is a skilled combatant as he was able to last a fight with all the Autobots and Optimus Prime at the same time. Satisfied Street Rat: He wears his life as "a gladiator from the pits of Kaon" as a badge of pride in spite of the fact he was a slave because of it.

Would Hurt a Child: In "One Shall Fall", he shoots Bumblebee, who was transporting Raf at the time, almost killing the boy. When Megatron finds out, he's downright pleased that he managed to "swat a bee and squash a bug". One-Man Army: At the end of the "Orion Pax" three-parter, he single-handedly defeated the entire Autobot roster save Prime himself (since Orion Pax/amnesiac Optimus is nowhere near as good a fighter), three of whom he had to fight at the same time.Megatronus' description of himself as "The First Decepticon" mirrors an ancient Transformer from the Marvel Comics who referred to himself as "The Last Autobot."
