About this deal

The phenomenon of visions being shared by others is not something new. Instances from the life of the Holy Prophet sahave been shared in the books of history, which allude to the possibility of visions being shared by others. For example, the chest incision incident that happened to the Holy Prophet Muhammad sawhen he was a young child (for a further read, see Seal of the Prophets – Volume I,under the heading “Fosterage and Childhood”). Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel. Eventually Moses sort of suggests that his poor public speaking skills will ruin God’s plan, then outright asks him to send someone else, so God decides to send Moses’ brother Aaron with him: And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire from the midst of a bush. So he looked, and behold, the bush was burning with fire, but the bush was not consumed.

In this verse, Prophet Moses ashas been recorded as Rasul and Nabi. This verse dispels a misconception that some Muslims have. Some say that Rasuland Nabihold different connotations: Rasulis used for a messenger who brings a new law and a new book, while Nabiis one whom God sends to reform people and receives divine revelation, but is not accompanied by a book. They argue, every Rasulis a Nabibut not every Nabiis a Rasul. Moses wasn’t born into a royal family—but shortly after his birth, he was adopted by Pharaoh’s daughter, and he was raised as a member of Pharaoh’s household (Exodus 2:10). This position of honor likely came with a royal education. In the Book of Acts, Stephen, the first Christian martyr, asserted that “Moses was educated in all the wisdom of the Egyptians and was powerful in speech and action” (Acts 7:22). Moses was a fugitive

Now Joshua son of Nun was filled with the spirit of wisdom because Moses had laid his hands on him. So the Israelites listened to him and did what the Lord had commanded Moses. Unfortunately, we don’t have a lot of context for when Moses lived. The Pentateuch doesn’t tell us who was Pharaoh in Egypt at the time of the Exodus. History is replete with scenes of enemies hatching and plotting to kill the Messengers of their time. During the time of the Holy Prophet sa, the chieftains gathered in Dar-ul-Nadwah to hatch a plan against the Holy Prophet saand eventually schemed to kill him. ( Al-Sirat Al-Nabawiyyah, ibn Hisham, pp. 340-342, Zikr Hijrat-e-Rasul, Dar-ul-Kutub al-Ilmiyyah, Beirut, 2001) Yes, go,’ she answered. So the girl went and got the baby’s mother. Pharaoh’s daughter said to her, ‘Take this baby and nurse him for me, and I will pay you.’ So the woman took the baby and nursed him. When the child grew older, she took him to Pharaoh’s daughter and he became her son. She named him Moses, saying, ‘I drew him out of the water.’” —Exodus 2:5–10 The Assumption of Moses is known from a single sixth-century incomplete manuscript in Latin that was discovered by Antonio Ceriani in the Biblioteca Ambrosiana in Milan in the mid-nineteenth century and published by him in 1861. [2] Identification [ edit ]

Moses astold his people to “‘Seek help from Allah and be steadfast. Verily, the earth is Allah’s; He gives it as a heritage to whomsoever He pleases of His servants, and the end is for the God-fearing.’” (Surah al-A‘raf, Ch.7: V.129) Punishment of Pharaoh’s people On first read, these references to a prophet seem a little vague; one might even think that Moses is referring to Joshua who is to follow him. However, Jesus points out in Luke 24:27 that Moses prophesied concerning the Messiah when he says, "And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself." Earlier in his ministry Jesus had said in John 5:46, "For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me." This is another reference to Deuteronomy 18:15-22. Fun fact: Scholars aren’t sure if Moses was named by his mother, or by Pharaoh’s daughter (“she” is ambiguous in Exodus 2:10). So they also aren’t sure if his name is Hebrew or Egyptian. In any case, no one else in the Bible has this name. Deuteronomy 18:16 According to all that thou desiredst of the LORD thy God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, Let me not hear again the voice of the LORD my God, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I die not. In writing (or at least handing off) the Ten Commandments, Moses had an immeasurable influence on the morality of not just the Jewish people, but the world. And the Ten Commandments still influence the way many people think about right and wrong today. The Golden Calf (Exodus 32)Following this, the chiefs of Pharaoh’s people counselled together to kill Moses as. A man, who desired good for Moses as, came to him running, saying, “‘O Moses, of a truth, the chiefs are taking counsel together against thee to kill thee.’” (Surah al-Qasas, Ch.28: V.21) Upon finding out, Moses asprayed to God to deliver him from this. (Surah al-Qasas, Ch.28: V.22) Migration to Midian and marriage
