Lastly, the size of the keys are quite large enough for finger-drumming and also very sensitive to even the slightest touch. For the bundled virtual instruments, at least, the physical location of on‑screen plug‑in parameters is often mirrored in the left‑to‑right layout of the Oxygen’s faders and knobs, which is sensible and practical. There’s next to no documentation anywhere, but figure out which controls move your on‑screen cutoff and resonance knobs and you can be squelching away with the best of them. As with the DAW control you’ll never get any hints from the Oxygen Pro screen about what parameter any given hardware control is tied to, even for the factory maps, which is disappointing, and such an obvious possibility. And just to be clear, Preset mode is no more or less than a simple, one‑way (ie. transmit‑only) MIDI control system, similar to that which underpinned dedicated knobby MIDI control surfaces of bygone decades. Which is to say it’s far from state‑of‑the‑art but potentially hugely useful. These are well‑spec’ed, capable and competitively priced controllers that should fit right into many different setups. Walking On Air That is because in FL Studio, I keep things simple when it comes to a MIDI Keyboard. I mainly look for quality keys, and good transport buttons. A velocity-sensitive key is designed to respond according to how lightly or firmly you press on it. Because of this advanced feature, you can have complete control over how you play notes at different levels.

For melodic sequencing duties and flexible hardware control, this is one of the best devices on the market. But don’t worry, after my testing (explained below).. I can highly suggest this M-Audio Oxygen Pro specifically for FL Studio usage, because it’s hard to find a 49-Key Semi-Weighted MIDI Keyboard at this price and features! assignable knobs & buttons for controlling virtual instruments, effect plugins, DAW controls and more

Solution home M-Audio Support M-Audio | Oxygen Pro Series M-Audio Oxygen Pro Series I Setup in Ableton Live Lite Notice the white line on each knob (red box). The M-Audio Oxygen Pro 49 includes 8 Knobs and 4 banks.. so you actually have 32 knobs!

There is slight flex when you lift up the top left and bottom right corners, showing that most of the weight is in the top right and bottom left corners. The frame is made of good plastic, has a good weight to it, and has LARGE rubber feet, which holds the Oxygen Pro 49 firmly in place! These rubber feet are BIG.. This is a well thought of design! With Smart Chord activated, pressing a single key or pad will play a full chord rather than just one note. The key or pad you press will determine the root note in the chord. The rest of the chord’s properties (Major, Minor, and Voicing – 1,3,5; 1,3,7; 1,3,5,7, etc.) are determined by the settings you choose. Smart Chord also has a Custom Mode which lets you to determine the chord structure that will be assigned to each key by manually playing it. For example, if you select Custom Mode, and play a 1-b3-5-b7 chord, every key will then be assigned to play this chord structure. The note of the key you press will serve as the root of the chord and all of the parameters can be edited right on the Oxygen Pro 49! A pad is one of the most popularly used sounds on a keyboard. This is because the outcome is mellow and can be sustained over a period. It is also very comfortable working on its texture foundation while putting some more intensity to the sound.

M-Audio pioneered the portable MIDI controller market with the Oxygen series of keyboard controllers. Today, M-Audio continues to be a leader of this technology by developing intuitive controllers for software-based music production and performance. Thanks to continued innovation over the course of nearly a decade, the new Oxygen series controllers offer more control, deep hardware/software integration, and come equipped with a reliable build that enables you to make music on the go or implement these controllers into any studio. Since the Oxygen Pro is class-compliant, it will operate off of your computer's core MIDI drivers providing compatibility for the most recent macOS and Windows operating systems. The M-Audio Oxygen Pro 49 features 49 best-in-class, velocity-sensitive, semi-weighted keys with aftertouch. The all-new M-Audio Oxygen Pro 49 was designed with flexibility and a superb user experience in mind. It comes with full velocity, 8 work-ready knobs, 9 faders, after touch-sensitive keys, and plug-in features. This product also features a small but crisp-clear OLED screen for modulation and control. The build quality is top-notch and is of medium-weight feel. It also does not flex in any way when in use.

What I like about this product is it has a sequencer. This is currently one of the newest products on the market, so many keyboards don’t yet have some of its features. Novationhas improved the aesthetic of their controllers as well. The Launchkey 49 II looks sleek with full-color RGB pads to match the color of your clips when using Ableton. This controller comes in at a reasonable price, and it is an improvement for Novation. A preset is a pre-loaded patch set by the MIDI controller manufacture in the memory of a synthesizer. This allows performers to create fantastic tunes without choosing any other patches or making any advanced editing or modification. The Akai MPK249 comes with 16 RGB illuminated pads, each with four banks, making a total of 64 pads that are all touch-sensitive.

M-Audio’s Oxygen controller keyboard range now has a Pro division, and it is a breath of fresh air...

The M-Audio help guide, online resources, and “custom FL Studio template” didn’t help much. (It’s like they didn’t even test this thing with FL Studio.. lol 🤷‍♂️) Semi-Weighted: These types of keys are a mix between weighted keys and synth-action. They combine springs with light weights to return the keys to their original position. Conclusion When Master is enabled, MIDI data from this port will always go to the currently selected program in your project. When the DAW you want is shown on the Display, pressthe Select/Scroll Encoder to confirm your selection.
